Less is More # 17 Take 3,4 & 5

Good Morning All!

I hope you`re enjoying your Bank Holiday Monday. I`m not a happy bunny today. I woke up at 5:15 this morning dying for a wee and decided to stay up. Not a good idea. I`m now a very grunmpy bunny, can`t decide if I`m tired, menopausal or just a plain miserable old witch. It`s chucking it down with rain and looks set to stay that way til late afternoon and on top of that I have to work today Urgh.

So, now I`ve I`ve sent you all into a state of deep depression lol, I`ll show you my cards for this weeks challenge at Less is More where we are to use one of 5 squares, i.e. the 4 corners or the middle. Yesterday I used the middle and bottom right corner. Today I thought I`d post the other 3 corners all in one post. Can`t say that any of them are my best work but here goes,

This one looks brighter IRL. I stamped the image, elegant weeds from Hero arts in versacolour Marigold and added some Glamour Dust to the flower heads.
The sentiment is by Flourishes.

The chandelier stamp is Papermania Chatsworth collection, Stamped in Versafine and embossed in clear EP.
I`ve added some tiny red gems here and there to give it some bling.
The sentiment is from the same set/.

This is another stamp from the Chatsworth collection, stamped in clear ink and embossed in detail silver EP.
The sentiment is again from Flourishes.

When I first saw the challenge on saturday I thought it would be easy but to be honest I have found this one to be the most challenging so far, oh, except for acetate lol.
Maybe it`s just me...

Jules Crafty Snippet Challenge # 21

Good Afternoon folks.

Well my mojo seems to have reappeared so I`ve getting down to some serious crafting this afternoon.

Before I show my make for Jules challenge, can I just say thank you for your comments on my Justin post. I knew I couldn`t be the only one with mad crushes on pop stars and you lot opened up brilliantly. The memories came flooding back and I was transported back to my well behaved ( cough cough) youth. I think David Essex came out tops in that one...

It`s going to be Alan`s sister Janices birthday in a couple of weeks so I`ve made her a card nice and early. Janice is a no clutter, no fuss type of girl so I`ve kept it nice and simple. Also, it being Sunday, I`ve used only snippets to make it. Y`know all those tiny pieces of paper that we can`t bear to part with, well with inspiration from Jules we can make something with them.

Here is todays make,

I found an almost full piece of card that I`d stamped on in one corner, cut it down to make a 5x5 card.
I scored two lines with the score board about 2" apart.
I had a small piece of patterned paper from Dovecrafts Retro Floral Prints pack that fit nicely into the space.
I stamped a Waltzing Mouse Vintage Frame in Versacolour Magenta and used Waltzing Mouse Victorian Alphabet letters for her name. I cut the frame out with a nestie labels 4 die.
A tiny scrap of pink paper made the Chinese rose and an even tinier scrap of green to punch the leaves.
The Happy Birthday sentiment is by Papertrey.

I`m really pleased with this one. Just goes to show what you can do with just a few teeny bits. Don`t forget to check out Jules blog will you, she has some gorgeous things to see.

Less Is More wk 17..Recipe...Pick a Square.

Hello Folks!

I hope everyone has recovered from Mr Bloggers mystery ailment.I tried all the tips I was reading but couldn`t get onto my dashboard for love nor money. I use Firefox as a server and it was recommended to try that but it didn`t work for me.I cleared all my cookies and cache and that didn`t do any good. I lost my followers, I couldn`t comment and now I have bald patches from tearing my hair out Lol. I finally had a brainwave yesterday morning and tried to access through Internet Explorer and that worked Yippee!!! Only by then I`d decided to make use of the time in the garden. After dodging showers, I managed to clear a rather large patch of weeds ( why do weeds flourish when nothing else does?) and plant some late bulbs, scatter some seeds and plant up a few tubs.By then I resembled the crooked man and could hardly straighten my poor aching back, so a hot bath ( haven`t had a bath for ages, I`m more of a shower girl) and a couple of Ibuprofen later I came up to the craft room for this weeks Less is More Challenge. which is to Pick a Square.
We can use any of the four corners or the middle. Great... easy peasy thought me...not.

I think I must have used all my mojo on the garden. I couldn`t find a suitable stamp I liked, then when I did decide on one, I seemed to have lost the ability to stamp properly. Four cards in the bin later this is what I came up with,
This was my first half decent attempt. I was quite pleased with this one but while colouring the flowers I just had to add another touch of pink and went over the line slightly. The air was rather blue at that moment.

So I had another go,
Different square this time, still not sure, I think the flowers are a bit dark.

Gerbera Daisy small stamp by Flourishes.
Coloured with Promarkers.
Cut out with Nestie rectangle die and matted onto larger rectangle die.

Might have another go during the week if I get my mojo into gear.

Justin in pink...

...Hee hee, thought that title might make you look. Lol.

Happy Thursday to you all and a big welcome to all my new followers.

I was asked by a girl I used to work with, to make a card for her daughters 16th birthday. The only conditions were that it had to have a piccy of Justin Bieber on and lots of pink.
Well the pink was no problem whatsoever, I am still a girly girl afterall...but Justin...
Then I thought back to when I was a teen ( I know, I know, that was in the dark ages) and the crushes I had on pop stars and celebs. At 14 I had posters all over my bedroom wall of Peter Frampton. he was the lead singer with a group called The Herd and I was so madly in love with him, I kissed his picture every night before I went to bed. At 16 he was voted the `face of  `68` and by heck he was gorgeous.
As I got a bit older David Essex took over in my affections and if I`m honest, even in my 40`s I had a bit of a crush on Mel Gibson (more than a bit maybe) lol.
So I can understand why Bekky is into Justin and thought it might be interesting to hear who you lot held close to your hearts in your youth. Could be interesting...

Right, waffle over, my card for today, featuring a very young Justin, is also my Snippet make for Jules Crafty Snippet Challenge # 20.

I managed to find a quite large piece of white card for the base, made it a 5x5 square and used my Martha Stewart Doily Punch along the bottom.
I found 3 scraps of Papermania Blueberry Hill papers, one large with roses and 2 smaller tone on tone ones.
I used the Doily Punch on two of the strips and also two strips of white copy paper to make the frill. I also punched the top, rose layer to give it a good finish.
I did have to cheat a bit and use a full sheet of photo paper for the main piccy because it wouldn`t go through the printer otherwise and also the card for the sentiment but they`ll go back in the bit box for future use.
The no 16 is stamped in Versafine using numbers from Waltzing Mouse Victorian Alaphabet set.
I had some scraps of pink vellum on my desk from an earlier card so made some Rolled Roses ( not very easy with vellum) and a butterfly using a Docrafts stamp and Pink Versacolour ink and clear EP.
The pic and sentiments are cut out with  nestie circle dies and matted onto the last of the scraps of pink paper cut out with a nestie scallop die.

Edited to add, the first love of my life lol. This is Peter Frampton. Just look at that face (sigh) and the hair...This middle aged grandmother has just been transported back in time about 40 odd years. Unfortunately he doesn`t look this good anymore `cos he`s aged too but a girl can still dream......

Well that`s made another small dent in the pile of scraps and I`ve got my thinking cap on for next weeks challenge.

CR84FN #29

Good Evening All!

Before I start could I say a very big welcome and a thank you to all my new followers.

This is the colour pallette for this weeks challenge at CR84FN
Light Plum, Plum and Kraft.

I had a bit of a blind spot and couldn`t work out how to incorporate the Kraft into a design with the other colours so I chickened out a bit and used Kraft as the base card only.
The rest is pretty easy peasy. White card embossed with Swiss Dots folder matted onto Plum card.
Waltzing Mouse Vintage Labels 4 stamped in Versacolour Heliotrope which is the nearest I have to Light Plum ink, cut out with a nestie labels 4 die.
Plum card cut out with a slightly larger die for border.
Sentiment by Flourishes.
Plum ribbon and huge bow to finish.

And thats it. A really quick post tonight as I`m shattered and it`s only tuesday. Early night for me I think.

Pink Butterfly..

My second entry for this weeks Less is More challenge. Very similar in some ways to my first.

I made a panel by running a Cuttlebug Candy Cane EF through the Bug, then placing it on the card front using foam pads.
The sentiment is computer generated and cut out with a circle nestie.
I made two butterflies with a Docrafts Whispers Butterfly stamp, using white ink and white EP on Pink vellum.I placed one butterfly on top of the other, then placed them both on the circle.
The circle is also placed using foam pads so it has quite a bit of depth.

Appologies for the photo, I had to go from room to room to get a decent piccy and the best I could do was on a stool in the bedroom hence the gap in the Background paper lol.

Less is More # 16 Butterflies

Good Afternoon All!

Yes, it`s Less is More
day once again. Is it me or are the weeks going waaaay too fast?
This week we are asked to make a CAS card using butterfly/ butterflies. Wow, it doesn`t get much better than that and not much of a challenge to most of us either me thinks.
Funnily enough I`d been playing around with my Twinkling H2O`s a couple of weeks ago. I simply slapped some of the paint onto some white paper, gradually adding water to get a graduating colour effect. When it was dry I stamped some butterflies on it in Versafine ink, cut them out then didn`t do much else with them.
Susan Raihala gives a great tutorial on how to do this effect. Check her out, she is amazing.
I also want to point out one more thing. I needed some EP during the week so put an order in at Joanna Sheen. Because she has a £5 spending limit ( understandably) I treat myself to a new Embossing folder as well. I placed the order just before lunch on Thursday and the postman delivered it on Friday morning. Hows that for brilliant service and P& P free too. Thank you Joanna!!!

Anyway onto my card.

I`ve used my new Cuttlebug EF, Leafy Branch straight onto the card front.
The Butterflies are by Elusive Images and done in Twinkling H2O`s as I said and I`ve added some gems to give it a bit of Pizzazz.
The sentiment is ofcourse by Flourishes Tag Lines Stamped in Memento Bahama Blue.

This is my first card, I`m already working on a second ( sorry Mandi & Chrissie) but I promise I won`t go overboard like I did last week lol.

Colour Throwdown # 142

Happy Saturday All!

It`s ages since I`ve had the chance to join in at Colour Throwdown but when I saw this weeks colours I just had to have a  go.
What a brilliant colour pallette this is.

Here is my card,
It was a bit trickier than I anticipated, trying to get the colour right but I was a good girl and persevered.
White base card.
Grey card run through the Cuttlebug with a Crafts too Damask folder then matted onto Black card.
I tried stamping and embossing with versa color Lime and clear EP but it looked too wishy washy so I stamped in a combination of clear ink and versa colour Lime then embossed in Lime EP. Ofcourse the two Limes were different shades but I think the end result is much brighter and clearer.
The stamp is Elusive Images Damask Background and I matted that onto black card too.
The label is Waltzing Mouse Vintage Labels 4 stamped in Black Versafine and embossed in clear EP, cut out with a nestie labels 4 die. The sentiment is from Flourishes Tag Lines.
A piece of black ribbon to finish.

I`ll keep it short and sweet as I`ve got a busy day ahead. See you later.

Jule`s crafty snippets #19

Good Evening All!

A few weeks ago I decided that it was time to use up some of my ever increasing pile of offcuts of paper and card.
I sorted some out, matching papers to card and contrasting colours with bits of ribbon but when it came down to it I couldn`t find the inspiration to come up with something I liked. Then I found Jule`s Crafty Snippets which is posted every sunday. That was just as I was getting bogged down with wedding invitations and life in general. I found that I really didn`t have the time to join in.
Jule`s blog Always with a Heart is full of fantastic makes and the Sunday snippets is a lovely little way of showing us how to use up those pieces we save for a rainy day and never get around to using.Check her out, you won`t be disappointed.
Anyway last night I was determined no matter what that I was going to join in at last and this is what I came up with.

The photo isn`t very good, I took it this morning when it was quite sunny and the white background seems to have bleached the colour a bit.
The papers are both from the same pack that I bought years ago when I first started crafting but I can`t remember who they are from.
The image is Hero Arts Elegant Weeds stamped in versacolour Heliotrope and embossed with clear EP.
The sentiment is Flourishes Tag Lines.
Another first for me is the concertina flower.I punched one edgewith a Martha Stewart Doily Punch and added a large gem in the centre.I know it`s not perfect but for a first attempt it`s not too bad.

I know it`s only a tiny dent in the pile of bits but I thoroughly enjoyed making this card. It was nice to get back to layers and colour for a change. Don`t forget to check out Jules blog ...

Less is More #15 Final card

Hi All!

A really quick post from me today as I`m running behind as usual. So much to do...so little time to do it lol.

This is my final ( honest) entry for this weeks Less is More
challenge. I think I`ve done it to death this week.

No indecisive moment today, I deliberately made this one to put a ribbon on. I thought it would make a good Graduation card or something along those lines.

The scrolly things are from Waltzing Mouse Vintage labels and the sentiment is by Flourishes. Org. Stamped in Versamark and embossed in clear EP.
I used a nestie labels 4 die for the embossed shape.
I added two tiny red gemsto the scrolls and a huge bow.

There is a slight mark along the bottom where I didn`t use my shim properly but I really don`t have the time to do another one. If I was giving this to someone then ofcourse I would do it properly.

And yet another one...

....card for Less is More
that is.
Before I show you my card I would like to thank you all for the comments on my previous post. Looks like the plain one gets the yes vote.
Todays card is on a similar theme in as much as I made one card, photographed it then added a ribbon and photographed it again. I`m sure I never used to be this indecisive, must be my age lol.
So, without further ado,
What do you think?

Without?
Or with?

I added the black ribbon because I love Lime and Black together but now I`m not so sure.
I think it might have been better with a slightly wider ribbon.

Stamp; Elusive Images Damask.& Flourishes Tag Lines
Ink;      Versa colour Lime & Versafine Black
Clear EP

Please let me know if you`re getting fed up of lots of posts for this challenge. I know how difficult it is to keep commenting on every post and how busy every one is.

Feeling the need for colour....

...in my life.

After last weeks White on White challenge and spending every evening making mainly white wedding invitations, I had a desperate need to add some colour. I have made a second card for Less is More today and I`m pretty sure it won`t be the last.
This was how I was going to enter it.
Very plain with just the image ( Papertrey Fancy Flourishes) stamped in Bahama blue and heat embossed with clear EP.
The sentiment is by Flourishes stamps also in Bahama Blue.
I`ve added a few pearls to finish off.

But then I decided to add a ribbon and bow. Took me about an hour to get the bow right then changed my mind. Didn`t like the bow one bit.

So back to the drawing board or, to be precise, the scoring board and I scored 3 lines along the top giving me both a heat and a dry embossed card.
Not quite sure which I prefer now...
What do you think?

I have at least one more card in the pipeline so stay tuned.

Less is More # 15 Embossing

Hi All!

Phew! What a relief bloggers got it`s act together. I thought withdrawal symptoms were going to kick in.

This weeks challenge on Less is More
is Embossing. Either heat or dry, so I`ve gone with both.
Actually it`s more of a dry deboss but I like the effect.
This is my second card, the first one went in the bin.
Originally I wanted gold on cream but I`ve run out of Detail gold EP and the plain stuff went bobbly so I wasn`t a happy bunny.
I had a rake around in my card box and found this deep blue card with sparkly bits in it that I got from PaperMill before it closed. It`s quite hard to describe the effect as it`s not glittered, it has a sort of mineral look about it.
Anyway I really like it, I just didn`t know what I would use it for but I do now lol.
I debossed the rectangle using a nestie.
The stamp is from My Minds Eye Wild Asparagus set, stamped in clear ink and embossed with detail silver.
The `Dad` is using letters from Waltzing Mouse Victorian Alphabet also embossed in Silver EP.

I don`t think this will be my only submission this week as I have lots of ideas but  time is my enemy at the moment. I`m still up to my eyes in wedding invitations. All the day ones are done, now I have 200 evening ones to do. It`s a bit like a production line in my dining room at the moment lol.

While I remember, can I apologise to all the entrants to last weeks LiM that I didn`t get around to. Busy, busy, busy all week and when I finally got the chance to chill, blogger played up. Sorry.

Friday 13 May 2011

....with blogger being down for so long I was beginning to get panicky. I mean, how could we get through Saturday without Less is More.
I can breathe easy now ( fingers crossed).

 See you all tomorrow...Lynne xxx

Anniversary card

Good Morning All!

It will be my eldest daughter and SIL `s wedding anniversary at the end of the month, this is the card I`ve made for them.
The inspiration for this one came from watching " This Morning" the day before the Royal Wedding.

They were showing designer wedding cakes and one of them had a cascade of flowers flowing down the 3 tiers. If I remember rightly it cost around £5000. Yikes!!!
Watching the show brought back memories . My Mum could do the most beautiful cake decorations before the Alzhiemers robbed her of her creativity.
Her sugar roses were gorgeous and I just know that had she been well when the papercrafting craze became massive, she would have been making the most fantastic cards and it would be her blog you would be looking at. She also did flower arranging and knew all about balance and placement.
Unfortunetly I didn`t inherit Mum`s creative streak.I have to work hard at my craft. It certainly doesn`t come easily, lol.

Anyway back to the card. As you can see I`ve gone mad with the rolled roses. A mixture of pink, cream and yellow.
I made a panel using the Damask folder from Crafts Too.
Placed the roses to cascade down the side.
I punch some leaves in a pale green.
The sentiment is  Rubbadubbado and the frame is Waltzing Mouse Vintage labels 4 cut out with a nestie.
It has been stamped and embossed in silver detail EP.

I`m quite pleased with this one. The roses have gone a bit uniform for my liking but I still like it.

Less is More # 14 x2 WoW

This is my 2nd post today. for my OLW card please scroll down.

I would like to thank every one for their lovely comments and advice on yesterdays card. Every comment is very much apreciated. Thank you!

This is my second go at this weeks Less is More Challenge and I`m much happier with this one.

It is definitely more `me`. Plain and simple lol.

I`ve used nearly all the same ingrediants as yesterdays card. EF from Crafts Too, Damask.
Rolled roses from Marianne designs
This time though I embossed a piece of card and cut a strip off. I placed it slightly below the top of the card then scored a line above and below .
Using the same EF I lined it up along the bottom edge of the card just enough to get a full pattern on and then ran it through the Cuttlebug. I then scored a line using my easy score board along the top to give it an edge.
I made the Roses using white paper as against card which I used yesterday and they seem to be much softer and more pliable. I made one large and two small, sticking to the rule of three.
I finished them off with a pearl in the centre of each.
The sentiment is from Flourishes Tag Lines Stamped and Embossed in detail silver EP.

As I said I`m much happier with this one. Maybe in future I should make one card but not post it, and then make a second much better one and post that instead lol.

Thanks for popping in...Lynne xxx

OLW # 52

Happy Sunday Every One!

The challenge over on One Layer Wednesday this week is hosted by Susan and is called Round and Round.
We are asked to make a olc using circles.
Now the problem with crafting on a very tight budget means that I`m limited to the stamps in my collection. No way can I just pop out or go online to order a stamp on a whim. I know I`m not alone on this, there are many of us who look on in envy at the fellow crafters that seem to have stamps, papers, coloured inks and equipment to match any challenge thrown at them. The biggest problem is that there is so much...stuff... out there that we all `need`. I had thought of getting a sugar daddy but then realised that they don`t do what they do out of the goodness of their hearts, oh no, they want things in return. So I quickly discounted that idea. I prayed to the lottery gods but they ignored me. I even toyed with the idea of getting a second job but then I`d have no time at all to craft, so I`ve had to compromise and improvise.
What I`m really trying to say is that in my meagre collection of stamps I have NO CIRCLES.
Not to be out done though I came up with this,
I`ve used the Big Blooms from Waltzing Mouse stamps in 2 sizes and stamped them in Versa color Magenta, Lime and Heliotrope.
The sentiment is by Flourishes Tag Lines.

I know it`s not the best card I`ve ever come up with but it`s bright and cheerful and it kept me out of mischief for a few minutes.

Less is More # 14 White on White

Happy LiM day every one!!!

I was so excited this morning when I checked the Less is More Challenge this morning to find it was " White on White" this week. I adore white on white cards, they always look so classy.
I ran through some ideas while shopping and doing the housework and as soon as I could I started on my masterpiece. And that`s where it all came to an abrupt halt.
The image in my head just doesn`t match up with the end product I`m afraid. I`m posting anyway because I have to have something to show but I`m pretty certain there will be at least one other entry this week.

Somehow it just doesn`t seem ....right...There are already so many fantastic entries I think I might have to throw the towel in and admit defeat.
I embossed the card with a Crafts Too Damask EF then cut the card to size.
I made one large and four small roses which haven`t turned out as good as they could be.
The sentiment is from Joanna Sheen Wedding Cake stamp set embossed in detail silver then cut out with circle nestie.
I cut a scalopped circle and placed the other one on top then placed using foam pads.
I arranged the roses around the circle.
And that`s it.

My daughter has just arrived so I`d better make her a cuppa. Be round you all later.

Rolled Rose Tutorial...

...or at least this is how I make them.

A really quick post today as I`m supposed to be getting ready for work lol.

I have been asked about the rolled roses I made for my card in a previous post. This is how I do them, it might not be the right way but I find it quite easy. I must admit it does take a couple of practice goes first.
I also find that it`s easier with paper or thin card as it bends better.

Please excuse some of the rubbish pics, it`s harder than I thought to take photo`s one handed lol.
Edited to add,
Now this serves me right for trying to do a post and get ready for work at the same time. Note to self...Don`t forget to tell the whole story DOH!!!
I should have mentioned ofcourse that the flower begins life as a die cut. Mine are from Marianne designs but there are others available. Massive apologies for the omission.

I use a small embossing tool to start the roll. The smaller the tool, the tighter the middle roll.
You can then either carry on the fold using the tool or do the rest by hand. In this pic I`ve used the tool.
Leave the large circular bit at the end flat.
When you remove the tool the flower will look quite tight.
Gently relax the flower with your fingers by letting unravel abit.
When you are satisfied with the shape and size, that`s it.
On the flat piece at the bottom put a small dab of quickie glue.
Sit your flower on the glue. You might have to tighten the flower slightly until you have it right.
When you are happy with it, hold gently between your thumb and forefinger for a few seconds.
When you leave go the flower should stay put. Gently bend the bottom, flat piece until it takes the shape of the rest of your flower and you should end up with a rose like this one.

As I say it does take a couple of tries to get it right, so practice on some spare copy paper. In no time you`ll be making them by the dozen.

I hope that helps. If anyone knows an easier way, please let me know.

Less is More #13 take 2 Thank You

Hello everyone, happy Sunday!!!

Yesterday I shared my Congratulations Card for the Less is More challenge. Today I want to show you my Thank You card.

Apologies for the piccy, I`ve had trouble chasing the sun today.

A very quick make once I`d decided on colour and matched card to ink.
I ran a panel of white card through the cuttlebug using a new Damask EF from Crafts-too. Then used a scallop die from Spellbinders a;long the bottom.
I scallpoped the bottom of a piece of bright yellow card and matted my white card on top leaving a border of yellow. The scallop die has holes for threading ribbon ( I think) so I`ve used yellow pearls to hide them.
The sentiment is by Flourishes Tag Lines stamped in Versacolour Marigold.
The Vintage labels stamp from Waltzing mouse is also stamped in Marigold and cut out with a nestie then mounted using foam pads.
I`ve kept this one as clean and simple as I could, letting the sentiment say it all.

Right, I`m off but I`d like to say thank you to all of you that commented on my recent posts and I hope to get round to some more of you later on. I`d also like to say a massive welcome to all the new followers I`ve gained over the last few weeks.
I`ve a very busy few days ahead of me. I`ve got the final numbers for the wedding invitations so I`m going to be up to my eyes in those for the rest of the week. I`m sure I`ll still get round to see you all though.

St Lukes Charity Card Challenge , May.

Happy 1st of May!

And welcome the second challenge from St Lukes Charity Card Challenge .
This month we want you to " Pick a Pattern"

Polka dots, checks, stripes, zigzags or something more geometrically complex - any pattern goes- the choice is yours!

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those of you who participated in our first challenge. We were overwhelmed with not only the amount of entries but the standard of them too. Well done to you all and thank you.

Here is my card,

Another quite simple card, I`ve used a 5x5 base card.
Cut a piece of card slightly smaller and embossed the top half with my new Cuttlebug Candy Cane Stripe EF.
I`ve added some bright blue dotty paper to the lower half and covered the join with some blue ribbon ( Poundland)
The panel was then attatched to the main card using foam pads.
I then stamped a Waltzing Mouse Vintage Labels 4 using Bahama Blue Memento ink and cut out with a nestie labels 4 die. Then I stamped the sentiment from PTI in blue and attatched with foam pads.
Nice and simple and easy for posting in the mail.

Which brings me to my next point. I`ll let Tara explain as she has posted this piece on the main St Lukes blog.

EDIT - 13th April - Unfortunately, due to rising costs and the need to maximise every single penny raised, the charity have had to suspend the use of the freepost address for this challenge.  If you live in or near to Sheffield, cards can be dropped in to any St Luke's Hospice shop (see their website for locations) and will reach us via their internal delivery service.  If you are kind enough to donate your card(s) but live outside of Sheffield, I am afraid you will have to put a stamp on the package for the charity to receive your donation (please take into account size and weight and ensure that sufficent stamps are used so as to avoid charges at the other end).  I'm sorry to change this mid-challenge but this challenge is all about raising money for this brilliant Charity, and unfortunately they do not receive any preferential rates from Royal Mail (boo to them!) and as we've been inundated with cards already (which is FABULOUS - THANK YOU!) it does mean that there is a significant cost to be paid, and a lag in how quickly we can sell the cards to replenish the shortfall.  On the plus side though - St Luke's remove all the stamps which are then sold to a stamp dealer to raise a few extra pennies - so if you can send a card and cover postage costs, then they are benefiting twice!
YOU MAY STILL PLAY ALONG IN THE CHALLENGE WITHOUT DONATING A CARD AND STILL BE ELIGIBLE FOR THE MONTHLY AWARDS.

SOME PEOPLE HAVE ASKED ABOUT SENDING GENERAL CARDS TO THE HOSPICE FOR SALE - THIS IS FINE - AND ANY CARDS WILL BE GREATFULLY RECEIVED OUTSIDE OF THE MONTHLY CHALLENGES.

I`m sure you will understand the need to raise as much money as possible for this very worthwhile cause.
