Jules Crafty Snippets wk 34

Good Evening All!
It would seem that I`ve become just as addicted to Jules Crafty Snippets Challenge as I have to LiM. I simply have to have my weekly rummage in my snippet box now. I made this card over the weekend but I have others started that just need the time to put them together. Watch this space!!!

The DP is Pink Petticoat from my snippet box matted onto deep red card.
The image is by Chocolate Baroque coloured with Promarkers and the sentiment is Papertrey Inc.The lacey scallop is a nestie die in the deep red card.
I`ve added a deep red ribbon with hearts on to give it a bit of a pop.

The weather is so cold and miserable here today that it`s making think  more of autumnal cards or maybe (shock horror) Christmas ones. Where has our summer got to?

Happy 4th Birthday Flourishes

Good evening all. I hope you`ve all enjoyed the bank holiday weekend.

August marks the 4th birthday of Flourishes.org and they are having a fabulous blog hop and card challenge to celebrate with wonderful prizes to give away. Now you all know how much I adore Flourishes stamps and would give my right arm (maybe not) to own more of them than I have. Well the only to stand a chance is to enter the competition, so that`s what I`ve done. Here is my entry,
I have used one of my favourite stamps from Flourishes, Gerber daisy. This time though I`ve tried a technique I haven`t done before.I`ve cut the image out using a nestie circle but I`ve left some of the flowers and the stems larger than the die. Chupa has a great tutorial on how to do this HERE.
She explains it so much better than me.
I cut a panel and used a Martha Stewart Doily border punch along both long edges and used some pale dusky green paper from Docrafts as a contrast to the image. The image is coloured with Promarkers and I`ve added a moss green bow.
The sentiment is Flourishes Tag Lines and I`ve added some flat back pearls to finish.

Less is More wk 30...Take 3 challenges

Good afternoon all!

Can I firstly welcome my new followers. It`s always lovely to know that you think my little corner of cyber space is worth a peek at.
Secondly could I say a massive thank you to all of you that left massages of support and sent cyber hugs after my little outburst last week. Although my situation hasn`t changed, I heard something the other day that put all of my problems into perspective and after giving myself a stern talking to I`ve realised that things could be an awful lot worse and I`m feeling a lot more positive now. Those hugs were lovely, thank you.

Right, this week at Less is More we are to combine 3 of the last 29 challenges. Easy peasy and spoilt for choice, thank you Chrissie and Mandi.

For my card I`ve gone for, wk 9, A Touch of Red,
wk 13, Thank You or Congratulations and wk 15, Embossing.
I started with a 5x5 white card base.
I wanted a strip of embossed card but I also wanted to put an edge around it to give it a more finished look but I don`t have long rectangular dies. So, I used a short die and a longer piece of card, placed it into the cuttlebug but instead of rolling all the way through, I stopped just short of the end. I then moved the die along the card to the length I wanted, keeping it in line with the cut I already had, turned it around, and rolled again almost to the end. This gave me the correct size panel. I then placed the panel into the Damask EF  from Crafts Too and embossed the whole thing. I returned the panel to the original die and went around the edge with a ball tool, moving the die down the panel until the whole thing had an edge. My instructions are a bit garbled but I hope you understand what I have done and I`m pleased with the result.
Next was the frame. I ran a small piece of scrap card through the Bug with the Swiss Dots EF, Then placed a nestie labels 4 die with a nestie oval die inside and made the frame. Once again, with the die still in place, I ran around the edge with a ball tool. The sentiment  by Rubbadubbado, was stamped in clear embossing ink and detail silver EP, cut out with a labels 4 die but trimed slightly smaller than the frame.
I made a rolled rose using a Marianne designs Rose Die. I find that these are better if made using paper rather than card but I didn`t have any red paper. So I cut a piece of red card large enough so the die would fit and ran the card through my ribbler ( one of those thingys that makes corrugated card) about 10 times to soften it then scrunched it up a few times in my hands. This breaks down the fibres and also makes the card seperate. I then seperated it into 3 sheets and used one of them to make the rose.
I punched a butterfly with a Martha Stewart punch out of a piece of the swiss Dots embossed card and added some red gem stones to finish.
It probably took longer to write this post than it did to do all the techniquey bits, they are not at all as complicated as they sound.
Edited to add- Chrissie has a tutorial for lengthening die cuts Here much easier to follow than mine lol.

LiM Things that move part 2

Good morning all!
I made a second card for this weeks Less is More Challenge at the weekend but have only just got round to posting it. I thought my earlier butterfly card was a bit of a cop out seeing as I use butterflies so regularly. I remembered I had this stamp from Anita`s tucked away and although wheelbarrows need a helping hand, they do move.
I stamped straight onto the card and coloured with Promarkers.
The sentiment is Flourishes Tag Lines.
The photograph isn`t the best but the weather has been pretty rubbish here this week apart from monday which was glorious and just sent to tease us I think. How you can go from summer heat wave to autumn overnight baffles me but then most things do lol.

While I`m here I thought I`d give you a quick explanation on why I`m being such a misery guts.
Alan works for the public sector and as you all know there have been major cut backs across the country in all forms of council employment. While he was never on fantastic wages we managed quite well until about 15 months ago when his working system changed. It`s complicated but basically his work consists of 3 levels, core, periodic and emergency call out, with 3 levels of pay, core being the lowest. Emergency call out has all but dried up and periodics have been reduced by half leaving just core work. At the moment he has a lot of core work and is working 15 hour days and saturday mornings which means we hardly see each other and when we do he is so tired, he sleeps alot.It also means that over the last year or so, our income has gone down by about a third. With a lot of careful planning and belt tightening we have been managing but we have almost no disposable income. On sunday, the car that has been playing up for months decided it just wasn`t playing at all anymore and then on sunday evening the telly died. It wasn`t even a dramatic death, it just turned itself off, went pop and won`t come on again. So we are watching a very small portable at the moment. Now I know that in the grand scheme of things, being tellyless isn`t very important but you get to a point were you wonder what else life can throw at you. Well on monday we found out. Young Alan, our son, ( having two Alans is so confusing) had another scan on his knee. The first two were inconclusive as there was too much fluid but this time they were able to see the true extent of the damage. He has torn 75% of the medial ligament but this time they`ve found serious damage to the cruciate ligament too which means surgery. The wedding itself won`t be a problem although it`s not how you`d choose your wedding day to be but the honeymoon has had to be postponed because he won`t be able to fly for quite a while because of the risk of DVT. I think this was the last straw for me.
I know there are people in a worse state than us but you just think that life should be better than this. I don`t feel quite so miserable as I did at the beginning of the week, you`ve just got to get on with it I know and things can only get better but in the meantime I`m wallowing in self pity lol.

cr84fn # 36

Hello everyone.
I apologise for being a bit quiet lately but life is having a field day with us at the moment. I know I seem to do nothing but moan and I won`t go into details but it`s one of those times when life dumps on you from a great height and then laughs about it. So, creativity, which is usually my great escape,is taking a bit of a back seat as I don`t appear to be getting much inspiration. However I did manage to make an effort for this fortnights challenge at cr84fn which has this fabby pic for inspiration.

The yellow dotty paper ( Pink Petticoat) is actually a lot brighter IRL, matted onto some kraft card.
The stripes is also by PP and really is almost kraft in colour.
I`ve used a Waltzing Mouse Labels  4 stamp, stamped in yellow and cut out with a nestie. The sentiment is by Papertrey and is cut out with a nestie oval .
I added some ribbon and some roses from my stash, the leaves are punched from Kraft card.
As all of the papers are snippets, I`m also entering this one into Jules Crafty Snippets Challenge.

Less is More #29...Things that Move...

Good afternoon all. Apologies for being MIA all week, I started with a sore throat on Sunday evening and by monday I had the worse head cold I`ve had in years. Really knocked me for six and my mojo caught it aswell. I feel much better today though, still a bit snotty ( sorry) but that`s all which is a good job as it`s Less is More day.
This week is a theme, things that move, which could be a moving part on a card or simply an image of something that moves. Sounds easy peasy ? yeah right!!!

I was very honoured to be showcased for the wk 27 challenge ` the colours of our nations flag` so I`ve a lot to live up to this week and going by the entries already submitted, the standard is very high. Here is what I`ve come up with today.
I used blending chalks and a piece of bathroom sponge to make the background strips. Four different shades of yellow to get the graduation and then stamped a Laura Ashley stylised flower in clear embossing ink and clear embossing powder to give a sort of watermark.
I cut the strips to size and placed using foam pads.
The butterfly is by Do Crafts stamped and heat embossed in black then coloured with promarkers. Only the body of the butterfly is stuckdown, the wings are lifted but look quite flat in the pic.
The sentiment is by Crafty Individuals stamped with versafine Onyx Black.

Christening card

Good Morning All!
It`s a beautiful day here today, typical as I`m back at work this afternoon. So, a quick post from me for a change.
My brothers grandaughter is being Christened in a few weeks so I`ve made a card to send. I`ve been at my snippet box again too so I`m entering this one into Jules Crafty Snippets # 32

The striped paper is Pink Petticoat and I think the hearts is Cute Colours but not sure. Both have been punched with a Martha Stewart Doily punch and layered.
The sentiment is computer generated, then stamped with a Waltzing Mouse Label stamp and cut out with a nestie.
I`ve added a ribbon and made a double flat bow with a pink heart gem.
Hopefully, time permitting I`ll be back with some more snippet makes during the week. Last week Jules had a record number of entries so the fight against snippets is definitely catching on. Check out Jules blog for some fantastic inspiration.

Thank you Less is More...

...for taking me out of my comfort zone and giving me yet another addiction lol.
After at first worrying whether I`d be able to join in with this weeks Less is More Challenge I`ve gone a bit overboard with inks and paints. And I`m loving it.
While I still had the H2o`s out, I thought I`d have a go with the irredescent ones. These only show up on dark card and so haven`t had much use in the past.
I used dark brown card and masked off an area to paint.
I used the green irredescent and just brushed it on roughly.
Once it was dried I stamped the Branches from Inkadinkado Delicate Branches stamp set and embossed in detail gold EP.
The sentiment is from Flourishes Tag Lines and is also embossed in gold.
I think this makes an ok male card.
But then I realised that the challenge was to get inky and H2o`s are paints so I had another think.
And came up with this one.
I masked off a square in the centre of the card and sponged versacolor inks in Peony, Magenta and Orchid.
While it was still `wet` I stamped the leaf from Papertreys Turning a New Leaf set Memento Rosebud and poured clear EP over the whole thing and heat embossed it.
The embossing doesn`t show up too well in the photo but is gorgeous IRL.
I`m dead chuffed with thisone and I`ll probably use this technique in the future now I`ve found the confidence to try it.

Less is More #28 Use Ink

Good Afternoon All!
The challenge this week at Less is More is to use ink, preferably in a way you haven`t used it before. Mmmm, I use ink to stamp images and that`s about it for me. I don`t do techniques mainly because I`m pretty useless and can`t afford to buy all those different inks and never use them. So, what to do? I remembered Susan Raihala
showing a technique with Twinkling H2o`s , an acrylic block and a water spritzer only the other day so I had a go at that.Susan`s is fabulous ofcourse. I used half a dozen pieces of scrap card to practice on and they were all rubbish so I gave up on that idea. So, while I still had my H2o`s out I thought I`d mask a square and paint some colour onto a card. This is the result.
I used post its to mask but because the paint was quite  wet it seeped a little around the edges. I quite like the `scruffy` effect and the colour is fabulously shimmery but I`m not happy with them. I might give it another go using masking tape.
I`ve simply stamped over the colour using stamps from Chocolate Baroque and Inkadinkado.
When I came to stamp them I wondered what I could do with the limited inks in my collection. I don`t even have any particularly juicy ink pads but I thought I try out some Versacolour on scrap card. I used a spare bathroom sponge, cut up into little pieces and did a practice run on a spare piece of card and this time using masking tape. Oh yes! it worked a treat.
Here is the finished card.

For the sand I used a mixture of Sand Beige and Canary and the sky/sea is Baby Blue and Cyan.
The stamp is by Inkadinkado Down by the Seaside. I`m much happier with this one and have now decided that I need to start saving my pennies for some grown up ink pads.
I must have beach scenes on the brain this weekend and that gives me a chance to remind you all about this months challenge at St Lukes Charity Card Challenge
which is seaside/holiday. For those of you who are new to this challenge, we ask you to make a card following the theme, add it to the blog (click on the link) and, if you want to you can donate your card and any others to raise much needed funds for the hospice. We have a fabulous prize to give the winner, this month donated by Quixotic Paperie.
I`m sure Chrissie and Mandi won`t mind me plugging this cause on this post :)

Oh I do like to be beside the seaside....

Hello again,
Just a quick reminder that the topic this month at St Lukes Charity Card Challenge
is a summer holiday / seaside theme. We also have a wonderful prize donated by Quixotic Paperie. I`m sure most of you are aware of this challenge by now but for those of who are new to my blog, click on the challenge link and check us out.
Before I show you my card, I want to share this with you.
Remember the card I made for Alans friend Maggie, with the rosette on? Well Alan gave her the card on the friday but like a good girl she refused to open it until her birthday the following tuesday. She was away on holiday that week and then Alan was off the following week so it was this past monday before Alan saw her again. Apparently she loved her card and brought us gifts back from her hols. Alan got a key ring and I got this lovely box of fudge.
The sad thing is that I didn`t immediately say `Oh yummy fudge`, oh no, thefirst thing I said was ` I can use the sea horse on a card and the raffia`, Lol.
And here it is ( the sea horse that is),
I found some 12 x 12 photo stack papers that I`ve had hidden away for an age and luckily they had water and sand papers among them.
The image is a precoloured one from Cute colors, I just adore the face on that bear, and the paper ribbon is from the same set.
The sentiment is computer generated, cutout with a nestie oval so as to leave room for the seahorse.

Please try to find the time to join us and if possible donate your card for this very worthy cause.

One stamp.one colour, two cards...

Good afternoon all!
I promise to keep this one short and sweet after yesterdays marathon post. Thanks to all of you for worrying about my mental state but I assure you I`m fine lol. Wednesday I was stressed, ( who am I kidding, I was fuming) yesterday I was quite chilled, especially after getting the coving up, which I might add, is still up and looking good. Even Alan was impressed. Just goes to show, you`re never too old to learn a new skill lol. Son assures me that the wedding was never in any doubt and as he only has to stand at the front of the church and not walk down the aisle, he`ll be fine. How he is getting out of the church afterwards, he didn`t say but he is so laid back about everything and if he`s not worried, then neither am I.

Right then, 2 cards from me today.
Both using Flourishes Zinnia stamp and both coloured with Promarkers. The first one has a touch of bright yellow marvy marker on it too.
The DP is Papermania Capsule Collection Yellows and I`ve embossed a strip of mustard card with the Cuttlebug Leafy branch EF. and added a piece of orange ribbon. The image is cut with a circle nestie, matted onto an orange lacey circle.
The cas version is a pretty rubbish photo, apologies for that, but uses more or less the same colours as the first.
I`ve embossed part of a panel with the Leafy Branch EF and added a strip of the DP. This time the image is matted onto a mustard lacey circle
I thought it would be good to see how versatile these stamps can be no matter what your style of card making.
That`s it from me for now,

A very frustrating day, a near disaster...oh and a card...

Warning! Very long post.
More of a novel than a post actually, so grab a cuppa, sit comfortably and relax.
I`ll start with the horrible day I had yesterday. No, scrap that...I`ll start with last week when Alan was painting the kitchen. I asked him last thursday if he would put 2 pieces of coving up in the living room that has been waiting to be finished for nearly a year and then, this week I could start decorating. Did he put the coving up?
No! ( I don`t call him half a job Harry for nothing). So, having wasted almost half a weeks leave I thought, right I`ll show him, I`ll do the flipping coving. We`ve been married for 35 years and I`ve always done the painting and wall papering but anything else, coving, skirting boards that sort of thing, Alan always does. Anyway I get up bright and early, shifted furniture out of the way , measured the coving, found the adhesive. Could I find that mitre corner thingy? No!. I searched in the junk (tool) filled shed, I took the dogs in with me in case something nasty jumped out at me and I couldn`t find it anywhere. By this time I was beginning to get very frustrated and at the banging about, muttering under my breath stage. So I gave up and came up to the craft room. The trouble with that is that once I`m in that sort of mood, all my creativity goes out the window too making me even more frustrated. I eventually stamped a few images and took them downstairs to do some calming colouring. When Alan came home from work, he went straight into the shed, raked about in a box filled with  some perculiar bits and bobs and found the mitre thingy. Argh!!!
Then came the near disaster. My son, the one who is getting married, in church with all the bells and whistles, in just over 4 weeks, rang to tell us that he had hurt his knee playing football and was on crutches. Apparently he has torn the medial ligament badly and because there is still so much fluid around it, the scan couldn`t pick up whether he`s got cruciate ligament damage aswell. He has had a brace fitted and can`t play footie for 6 months, so it is bad. At this moment we don`t know how long he has to wear the brace for but if it`s longer than 4 weeks he`s going have to get his wedding trousers altered and walk down the aisle on crutches.
I think I want to cry lol.

Now that I`ve bored you all to death and caused mad depression around blog land I suppose I`d better show you my lastest make.

I was playing around really just trying out different colours on this stamp ( Orchids by Flourishes) and I quite like the effect I`ve achieved. The yellow is Promarker buttercup and the pink is Papermania pens which are water based but blend nicely with the promarkers. The problem then was finding a DP that wasn`t too dark or bright for the image. I found this one loose among my papers and I think it`s a Papermania Capsule but not 100%. anyway it goes perfectly with the image so I`m chuffed to bits.
I cut the DP into 4 equal pieces and stuck them onto a panel that is slightly smaller than the card.
I cut the image out with a nestie oval and matted it onto a labels 4 die cut piece of pink pearlescent card then just added a bow along the side. The sentiment is from the same Orchids set.
Having got my card all sorted I thought I have another go at the coving now that I got the right tool and after a bit of messing about and cutting, it`s up Yaaaay!
I`ve never done it before although I`ve watched Alan and I just thought I`ve got nothing to lose but my temper and some time and if it all goes wrong then Alan will have to put it right but, I finished at 11.45 and it`s still up there, and, if I may say so, a mighty fine job done too. Not perfect I`ll admit you have to look close to find the faults.
The only problem I have now is that now Alan knows I can do it, I`ll be doing it all the time. Sometimes I`m my own worse enemy.

Pink, Blue & Pretty

Good Afternoon All!
Yep, it`s me again. I have a few days off work and I`m supposed to be getting the living room ready for decorating but somehow I`ve managed to find myself in the craftroom. I have no idea how that happpened Lol.
The card I`m showing today is one I made a couple of weeks ago and then realised that I couldn`t post it because the lady in question sometimes looks at my blog. Well I know that this lady is away for the week doing much more exciting things than snooping at this blog so I think it`s safe.
Jean, who the card is for, is a friend of Mum and Dads and has been very supportive of my Dad since Mum had to go into residential care. She is a lovely lady and it will be her birthday next week. Here is the card I made for her,
As the backing papers are snippets I was going to add it to Jules snippets challenge but as there is so much other stuff on it, I`m not going to afterall.
The DP is Papermania Blueberry Hill matted onto pink pearlescent card.
I made a frame from the pink card using 2 nestie label 4 dies but you can hardly see it under the embellies.
I added a floaty pink feather, then a rose surrounded by cherry blossoms.
I punched a martha Stewart Butterfly from the pink card and added some gems.
I placed the lace over the join of the 2 papers and laid the ribbon over the top and made a double looped bow.
The sentiment is computer generated and cut out with a tag punch.
I`m pleased with this one. I love that all the colours go together so well and I`m sure Jean will be pleased too.

Jules crafty snippets # 31

Good afternoon all!
The weather here over the weekend was appalling and seems to be carrying on into the week too, but that meant I could spend lots of time in the craft room. Sunday is Jules crafty snippets day so I took the opportunity to have a good old rake about among my snippets and create some cards. I had some toppers already coloured so they didn`t take too long to put together.

First up is my fave Teddy stamp by Lili of the Valley, coloured in promarkers and Marvy Le Plume. He is stamped onto a snippet of white card and matted onto a snippet of bright pink card.
The DP is Pink Petticoat snippets and the sentiment, by Personal Impressions is stamped onto the strip cut from an A4 sheet to make the square card and cut out with a nestie labels 4 die.
I`ve added some bright pink spotty ribbon and a bow to finish.

Next is a new (to me) stamp by Flourishes called Lenten Rose, coloured in promarkers and cut out with a nestie labels 4 die. I cut another label the same size in yellow card, cut it in half and placed the label on top with just the edges of the yellow showing.
The DP is from that everlasting snippet pile from Papermania. The spotty paper is matted onto yellow card and I`ve punched along the bottom with a Fiskars punch.
The sentiment is from the same stamp set and is cut out with a nestie circle.

Finally I`ve gone CaS with this one.
The white panel on the front of the card is a snippet and I`ve run just over half of it through the Cuttlebug with the Candy Cane Stripes EF. The green check DP is a snippet from Papermania Capsule Collection and I`ve added a green ribbon before attaching it to the front of the card using foam pads.
The stamp is another new to me from Flourishes, this time I`ve used Zinnia`s. These are gorgeous because they come in an array of different colours so I think you`ll be seeing a lot more of this stamp set. I`ve coloured with Promarkers, cut out with a circle nestie and cut a lacey circle in matching green card ( another snippet) as a border.
The sentiment is from the same stamp set, again cut out with a circle nestie. I`ve finished off with a green bow.
Phew! It`s a pity meal times have to interfere with crafting, I could have gone on forever I think
Thank you for all your lovely comments on my last post, it does wonders for a girls ego lol.

Less is More #27 Take 2

Good evening all!

Well, luckily for me, the football season is now in full swing and the rugby semi finals were on the telly this afternoon which gave me the perfect opportunity to indulge in some guilt free crafting. Alan thinks I`m mad when I say I feel guilty but I sometimes feel that I ought to spend at least some of the weekend with him. Anyway I`ve thoroughly enjoyed myself today and that`s what matters.
My second card for this weeks Less is More is based on the red, white and blue of the Union Jack.

Here is my take on the challenge.

I`ve used Navy Blue card for the base.
The flowers are made from an English Roses Die from Marianne Designs in white paper.
The leaf is another die from Marianne cut out in red card.
Originally I was going to use white card base and red roses but I thought since we were going all patriotic I`d use white roses for the White Rose of Yorkshire, me being a yorkshire lass an all. I quite like the effect of the white against the dark blue.

Right, I think me and my craft room have seen enough of each other for the time being, I`m off to come and visit as many of you as I can.

Less is More #27 Colour

Good Morning All!
I`m quite early for this weeks Less is More Challenge for a change. For week 27 it is a colour challenge and we are asked to use the colours of our national flag. In the UK we are lucky to have two choices as we have our individual countries and our national flag (union jack) to choose from. For my first card I have chosen the St George of England flag. I have taken the challenge quite literally as you will see simply because of the huge amount of  English flags that flutter all over the country when the England footie team are playing. Here is my card.
White 5x5 square base card.
I printed the sentiment (?) from the PC using Garamond Bold font.
I cut 2 strips of red card and placed them in an off centre cross onto the card.
The footballs are from The Stampman Football Mad stamp set stamped and embossed in black EP then cut out with a nestie circle and placed using foam pads.

I have an idea for a second card and I really don`t like doing 2 posts because of all the commenting you have to do but I wanted to get this one posted before LiM is inundated with football related cards Lol.

CR84FN # 35

Good evening all!
A quick post from me today I`m afraid. Alan`s got a week off work this week and I just can`t seem to get on with anything. He`s painted our kitchen so I`ve got everything to put in it`s proper place lol. Anyway enough rambling, the inspiration piccy for this fortnights CR84FN Challenge is gorgeous. Just take a look at these fabulous colours.
Aren`t they just gorgeous? Here is my card,

I`ve used a very pale green DP by Papermania matted onto Lavender card.
The sentiment is computer generated, cut out with nestie circle and matted on to some of the green DP that has been cut out with a nestie scalloped circle. The that was placed with foam pads onto a lacey edged circle in lavender.
I added a dark grey ribbon and double looped bow and some lavender coloured flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts.

That`s it from me for now, got paint splashes to remove lol.

Jules Crafty Snippets # 30

Good evening all!

WARNING! Sunglasses Required.

Well I think summer has paid us another visit. Today has been very warm though a bit muggy but yesterday was glorious up here. Not that I saw much of it but it looked very nice through the loft window lol.
I spent all afternoon making a special card and using snippets so I could share on Jules Crafty Snippets and then realised that the person it was for sometimes looks at my blog so I can`t share it until after the 16th. (yes you know who I mean don`t you Jean? lol)
So I set too to make another and seeing as the weather was so lovely I was inspired to make a very bright summery card. I may have got a bit carried away with the brightness lol.

DP is Shabby Princess snippets matted onto snippets of orange paper.
Sentiment is computer generated, cut out with a nestie oval and matted onto a larger orange oval.
Flowers are punched with a daisy punch also out of snippet papers and finished with bright gem stones.

Hopefully I`ll be back later in the week with a more subdued effort lol.

A Pinch, A Punch...

...it`s the first of the month.
Which means it`s time for a brand new challenge at St Lukes Charity Card Challenge and this month the theme is, By The Seaside.
We want you to send us your cards showing anything to do with seaside holidays.
The beach, seashells, yatchts, fishes anything with a " get away from it all" summer by the sea feeling.
When you`ve done that, you could send your card, by post, to the hospice to sell to raise funds too. What could be better? The address in in the sidebar on the St Lukes Blog. There is also a fabulous prize this month for the best entry chosen by the DT..
Here is a little bit of inspiration,

I`ve made a panel for the front of my card and embossed using a swirls EF because it reminds me of rolling waves.
I`ve added a snippet of blue paper to represent the sea and a piece of yellow for the sand.
The image is by Inkadinkdo Down by the Sea set stamped in versafine black.
I haven`t added any colour to the image because I think it lovely just as it is.
What I wouldn`t give to by the sea right now...

Thanks for popping in...Lynne xxx
