Simply Less is More # 156 take 2

Hello again, yes it`s me. Two days running, I think I`,m on a roll lol.

I`ve come to the conclusion that I love a good, simple sketch. It`s so much easier when someone else has done half the work for you. And the sketch this week at Simply Less is More is a good, simple one. So much so that I`ve come up with a second card.

This time I made a baby card. I embossed the base card with a CB Swiss Dots EF.
I made a banner to fit and stamped the Congratulations onto it (Flourishes Tag Lines)
The tag is punched from a Woodware punch and stamped with a Chevron b/g stamp from Lawn Fawn in very pale baby blue. I then stamped ` it`s a boy ` in Versafine black.
I stamped the heart by Avery Elle in Canary ( Versacolor) and embossed in clear EP then cut out with Sizzix heart die.
I`ve added some pale blue flat back pearls and some yellow Bakers Twine to finish.

Here is a close up of the tag.

Simply Less is More # 156

Woohoo, here I am with my entry for this weeks Simply Less is More and it`s still Saturday.

Hello folks, I hope you are all well and in good crafting mode. It`s a sketch this week over at Simply Less is More,
I decided to use the same stamp set that Tara asked me to use to showcase her Flourishes week at Make the day Special.
The store is now open and I took the opportunity to order the die that goes with this Bookplate Stamp.

I made a panel slightly smaller than my base card and embossed it with a cuttlebug Candy Cane EF leaving a plain strip for the sentiment.
I stamped the image ( Flourishes Bookplate Vol 2) in clear ink and embossed using Detail Gold EP, then coloured the flowers with Promarkers.
The sentiment is from the same set also embossed in gold. I`ve added a small lilac ribbon to finish.

I have more ideas so may be back ( but don`t hold your breath lol)

Simply Less is More # 155

Hello All!
I hope I find you well today. Don`t you just love it when a plan comes together? I`ll explain.

It`s theme week at Simply Less is More and this week it`s to make a BABY card. I had no time over the weekend to get into the craft room as I was holding a little party for my dads 82nd birthday on sunday. Ofcourse monday means back to work which leaves little time to craft but Tara`s new venture  Make the Day Special Stamp Store
opened its doors and I found some time to place an order ( it would have been rude not to). Over the past couple of days I`ve been toying with an idea for my LiM card with the intention of having a crafty day today. Then the postman arrived with my package from Tara this morning and everything fell into place. I`d ordered the Valentine stamp set from Avery Elle because it has some lovely heart stamps and by sheer good luck the hearts fit my Sizzix Heart Dies perfectly. This is what I came up with,

I made a panel slightly smaller than my base card and ran it through a Darice EF, leaving a small space for the sentiment.I backed the panel onto some pink card leaving a slim border.
The hearts are stamped with Versacolor Orchid and embossed in clear EP to give some texture and shine then placed at irregular intervals with some silver thread.
The sentiment is by Personal Impressions stamped in Memento Black.

Don`t forget to check out Tara`s new store. She has some fabulous US stamps at really reasonable prices.

Guest design team member

Good Morning All!

I have some fab news to share today. My lovely blog friend Tara has taken over the online stamp store
Make The Day Special. Not only that, she has kindly asked me to be a guest designer for the Make the day special blog.
Unfortunately the site is not quite up and running just yet but is just a whisker away from going live. The store specialises in bringing U.S. stamps to the U.K without all the fuss of paying extra in cutoms and excise duty. Please check out the store to see the wonderful brands Tara has for you.
One of the brands that was in the store was Flourishes and regular readers of  my blog will know how much I love Flourishs stamps. Unfortunately, Flourishes have ended their wholesale program so Tara will no longer be able to stock them but she still has some for sale in the store. To promote the sale of Flourishes stamps the blog is runnng a week of designs using these stamps. Here is my GDT card;

Not sure if it`s possible to make a fussy CaS card but I think I`ve come close lol. I`ve used the beautiful Panseys from Flourishes Bookplates Vol 2.
I`ve coloured the flowers with Promarkers and Spectrum Noir pens and cut out with a nestie square.
I used the Spellbinders Lace Doily Motifs die set and cut my card base to fit before placing my image with foam pads. I`ve finished off with some lilac flat back pearls.
The sentiment is from the same stamp set.

Please keep checking the site for opening time, you will not be disappointed.

Simply Less is More # 154

Hello All!
Happy monday to you. I hope you are all well.

This week at Simply Less is More it`s one layer week and we are to use Hearts. Now one layer cards no longer fill me with dread but I have to say I don`t enjoy them as much as the other challenges. I struggled with this one, mainly because I don`t have many heart stamps ( not at all romantic you see) but today an idea popped into my head so I ran with it. Not the best card I`ve ever made but hey ho!

I`ve used hot pink for the base card. The heart stamp is by Papermania, Confettii collection, stamped and embossed in detail silver ep.
The sentiment is Flourishes Tag Lines, also embossed in silver.
Sorry about the rubbish photo but I`m rushing as usual.
Thank you for all your comments on being Showcased last week. They were all very much appreciated.

Simply Less is More # 153

Good morning all!
Happy monday to you. I hope you are all keeping well and not suffering too badly from the atrocious weather we`re having at the moment in both the UK and the States. We`ve been really lucky up here, just rain and a bit of wind.
Well...two weeks on the trot I`m here for a Simply Less is More challenge. I do hope I can keep it up, I`ve really missed my weekly CAS makes.

This week it`s colour challenge week and the title of the challenge is;

                                          WINTER BLUES

 Here is my entry,
I struggled a little bit trying to come up with something that wasn`t a Christmas card. My dad has a birthday coming up so this is ideal.
I finally decided on my old `go to` panel design.
After cutting the panel to size I cut out an aperture with a dekkle edge die from Caroles Crafts.
I masked the card base slightly larger than the aperture and used blending chalks in 3 shades of blue.
The leaf die is by Marrianne Designs cut out of Royal Blue pearlised card and stuck in place with foam pads, leaving some leaves overlapping the aperture.
The sentiment is PC generated.

Now that life is back to normal after the Christmas and New Year holidays, I`m looking forward to spending alot more time in the craft room. Don`t hold your breath though lol.

Simply Less is More # 151

Happy New Year Everyone and I hope you all had a lovely Christmas.

I know I`ve been a terrible blogger these past few weeks and my determination to post more regularly didn`t come to much. I really don`t know where the time goes. I should make it my New Year resolution to spend much more time on the blog but I simply can`t promise I will keep to it. I will promise to do my best though.
I thought I`d start with my favourite Challenge, Simply Less is More, which has a two week window and a theme of choosing any of the past challenges.
I`ve chosen wk 151 Punches or Diecuts.

It`s the perfect time of year for Thank You cards and this design is great at any time of the year.
I made an A5 top fold card and cutout a panel slightly smaller than the base.
After rounding the corners off I ran it through the CB with a Darice EF and placed it on the card using foam pads.
The leaf is made with a Poppy stamps Lorelai die.
The daisies are made with a punch and the yellow middles by using a two hole paper punch ( just the right size).
The sentiment is by There She Goes, stamped in Versafine black ink.
A bit of tweaking of the flowers to give it some texture and there you have it.

I can`t wait til next week when everything is back to normal and I can get into some sort of routine again.
