Shabby Chic Baby

Happy New Years Eve All!

I hope you all had a fantastic Christmas and are going to have an even better New Year.

Just before Christmas my brothers daughter had a baby girl. I had just settled down to make her card when I noticed that the challenge over at The Shabby Tea Room  is for a shabby chic baby project. We were given this beautiful photo for inspiration and asked to use fabric somewhere in our designs.

How could I resist?
I wanted to use very delicate pink tones on this card but it looks a bit wishy washy in the photo. I have had terrible trouble trying to take decent photo`s because the weather is murky, misty and just plain dull here at the moment.

I have used all Pink Petticoat papers.
The rose background is from the Vintage Rose collection and the panel is the Pinstripes collection. Both are Blossom Pink.
I`ve used my new Marianne Designs embossed ribbon strip with some pale pink ribbon.
The image is my favourite baby stamp from PSX stamped and embossed in silver, then cut out with nesties labels 4 die.
The sentiment is computer generated with the baby`s name, Lylah. Isn`t that a pretty name?
To finish off I`ve added some pale pink ribbon roses.
I suppose adding ribbon instead of fabric is a bit of a cop out but ribbons are made out of fabric, right? Ha ha.

Well Christmas came and went in our house very quickly. We saw the grandchildren on Christmas morning as we always do and it was fantastic seeing them open their pressies, then back home for a Christmas dinner and an unexpected gift of a nasty chest cold that Santa thought would be nice for me. NOT!
I went back to work on monday and just about everyone of the staff have the same bug. I think it`s one of those things were you you are so busy in the run up to the big day that you really don`t have time to be ill and then, the minute you relax, BAM, it hits you. I`m getting better but the damp air around at the mo isn`t helping much. Roll on spring is all I can say...

Thanks for popping in...don`t have too much of the falling down water tonight and stay safe...Lynne xxx

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas Everybody!

I would just like to take this opportunity to wish you all a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Thank you all for the lovely comments you`ve given me over the past year, all the inspiration I`ve gathered from your fabby blogs and all the new friends I`ve made.

I don`t normally make new year resolutions because I know I won`t keep to them but this year I`m resolving to be more organised in my crafting and make more of an effort to get around you all to leave comments. If Santa is as kind as I hope he`s going to be things might just get a little easier, ( wink wink).

Snow scene.

Good evening all!

Another quick post from me to show you a card I meant to post last week.
I`ve used the Cuttlebug snowflakes border again, matted onto navy blue card stock.
The image is by Rubbadubbado and I`ve had it for years. I`ve stamped with Memento Danube Blue ink onto white card then used Chrystal Glamour dust for snow on the roof and along the ground.
The image has also been matted onto navy card stock.

I really don`t know where the time is going right now. I seem to constantly busy but there`s always something else needs doing. Never mind, a fortnight from now and it`ll be all over.

Seasons Greetings

Good Evening All!

Another quickie from me as Alan has just got back from his airport run. How jealous am I that his sister and family are off to Oz and warmer climes???
I managed to walk to work and back today without mishap so I`m not so nervous now ( Golly I sound like  a right wimp don`t I?).

On to todays card.
Another blue tinged wonder. If I get the chance I`ll photograph it again and try to get better light.

I`ve made a batch of these cards as time is running out and I take too long faffing about trying to come up with fabulousness.
Once again I`ve used my Cuttlebug Snowflake Folder, matted onto some bright blue card.
The stamp is from Inkadinkado and is stamped in Memento Bahama Blue.
I`ve cut the image out with a labels 4 die and raised it with foam pads. Then added some small gems to give it some bling.

Here is the same card rephotographed in better light.

Deck the halls....

Good Evening All!

Another rather quick post from me.

This is a card I made for an uncle. Every year the first card through the post is from my uncle Colin so I try to make him something that little bit special if I can.
Once again apologies for the rubbish piccy. All the photos I took this morning appear to blue tinged for some reason. I tried to reduce the blue on the photo editing thingy but it obviously didn`t work.

I used my Cuttlebug Snowflakes embossing folder for the panel and cut an aperture with a circle nestie.
My stamp is by Elusive Images from the Deck the Halls set and coloured with Promarkers and watercolour pencils.
I think I mentioned last year when I used this stamp that I couldn`t decide what the fruits were so this time I`ve gone with both oranges and rosy apples.
The image is cut with a slightly smaller nestie circle and placed in the aperture.
The sentiment is also from the same set and cut out with a labels 4 die.

So there you have it, quite a CAS card but with a twist.

I went back to work today but fortunately Alan was home to take me and bring me home. Tomorrow he is running his sister and her husband to Manchester airport as they are going to Australia for a month, lucky things, so I have no choice but to walk. Keep your fingers crossed for me lol.

Cream and gold

Morning All!

Just a quick post from me today to show a card I made over the weekend.
The papers are from Papermania Silent Night collection and the dots are embossed in gold.
I`ve added a piccy taken at an angle to show the gold off.

There`s also a sheet of plain cream that I`ve used to stamp and emboss my image onto.
The image is from Inkadinkado Winter Shapes set and is embossed in gold.
The sentiment is from Creative Expressions.
All I`ve added is a gold ribbon and bow as I think all that gold speaks for itself.

I have taken the day off work again today to get over my aches and pains. I thought I had escaped lightly but I woke up this morning stiff and achy all over, even my armpits ache. Funnily enough it doesn`t stop me crafting though :)

It`s an ill wind...

Good Morning Folks!

I really shouldn`t be here this morning blogging away, I should be hard at work serving customers with nothing better to do on a cold and icy Sunday morning than shop, but I`m not, I`m here. Why? Because this silly old fool fell her full length on the ice this morning. Don`t worry, I`m fine. A bit battered and bruised but nothing serious and I`m taking full advantage by sitting in my craft room.

I have a card to share with you today. Dad asked me make one for a friend so I came up with this one. I`m not 100% sure of it yet though so I might make at least one more and let him choose.
The red holly paper is from my Artyilicious CD. I`ve matted and layered it onto some green card.
The white holly paper is from a Create and Craft CD by Redhotbed. I`ve matted that onto some red card after I`ve punched a border with a Martha Stewart punch.
I cut a shape with a nestie label 4 die in green and placed it using foam pads.
The sentiment is one that I`ve used over and over again because, to me, it emcompasses the whole meaning of Christmas and is beautiful. It`s by Elusive Images and is from the Deck the Halls stamp set. I`ve stamped and embossed in gold on red card and cut out with a nestie oval die.
I`ve added a big red bow and some red gems to finish.

Right, I`m off to do some more crafting while I can. Alan is pampering me so I`m lapping that up ( I think he feels guilty for not taking me in the car hee hee). Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Grrrr !

Hello crafty friends !

I bet you thought I`d emmigrated or something.

The Christmas rush has started with a vengeance at work so last week I worked a 6 day week. Not something I`d recommend when all you really want to do is get into your craft room and make Christmas cards. At this rate I`m going to have to do the unthinkable and buy shop bought ones, argh! shock ,horror!!!
On top of that the weather has been atrocious. Alan and some of the neighbours have had to dig the cars out of the snow and clear the road but as fast as they are clearing the snow came down heavier. We have had over a 18 inches here and the novelty has worn off now. I`ve had to struggle to work in my wellies, very glamorous I`m sure and now they`re telling us that the snow is over but we have black ice. If it gets too bad I think I might be chucking a sickie.

Anyway I did manage to put together some cards the other night. I have loads to make for friends and neighbours so I thought I`d go with mass produced CAS cards. This is what I`ve come up with so far.
And here is a close up of the pink one.
Once again, not a very good photograph, sorry about that.

The DP is by Elusive Images Artilicious CD.
I`ve punched along the top with a Fiskars punch.
The image is by Inkadinkado and stamped in Momento Rosebud. The sentiment is by Papermania.
I`ve matted the image onto some hot pink card and placed it using foam pads.
Then I`ve added some small gems to finish.

I`ve done the same with the other two but the green on I`ve used paper from the Shabby Princess.

I hope to be back later with something a bit more special.
