Hello there,
It's Saturday so that means a new challenge at Less is More and this time it's...
There's some great inspiration from the team on the blog, I've used a sentiment to inspire me.
The diamond part of the sentiment 'spoke' to me so I just went with it and did my own thing.
The diamond shapes are cut from silver glitter card using a Spellbinders die.
The sentiment is by Wplus9
I've added a single tiny gem above the I to finish.
It's Mother's Day tomorrow and we are taking my Mum in law out for a meal, along with her 3 daughters and their partners. I love our family get togethers and not having to cook is a bonus too. I hope all you Mums out there have a lovely day aswell X
Thanks for popping in

Handmade background papers
Hello all
Because of my neglect of my poor little blog over the last few months I've also not joined in with any challenges either. I noticed the latest challenge at Simply Less is More is a colour challenge and, because I spent Wednesday morning getting messy with inks and paints, I thought I'd join in.
This time it's the colour of their banner, yellow, gray and blue.
I began my messiness with marbling using the shaving foam method. I love doing this and I'm always amazed at how easy it is to make such a pretty pattern.
So, a simple design with a circular window.
The butterfly is from memory box.
Sentiment by Wplus9
I've enjoyed getting back into the swing of things, thanks for popping in.

Simply Less is More # 234
Hello There,
WOW, it`s still saturday and here I am. Not only have I made my card, I`m posting it too. Now that`s something that doesn`t happen very often !!!
First though I`d like to welcome my latest follower, Sandma. Thank you for choosing my little blog, I really do appreciate it x
So, this weekend over on Simply Less is More it`s the boss`s 70th birthday, Happy Birthday Chrissie. We also have a guest designer, Di from Pixie`s Crafty Workshop.
Di also runs the snippet challenge on her blog and the remit is to use snippets on our cards this week, while keeping them CaS with lots of white space.
I used to join in with the snippets challenge regularly but this past year I`ve been a bit negligent, something I must put right.
So, onto my card,
I started with these scraps of card and DP
and came up with this.
I`m not sure if Shabby Chic is supposed to go with CaS but I like it.
Really quick and simple design.
I made a tent fold white card base and a panel slightly smaller.
I cut the snippets into various widths and lengths and used a nestie square die to cut the fish tails.
The sentiment is by Wplus9 stamped and embossed in silver EP, then cut to size and fish tailed.
I`ve finished off with some tiny clear gems and there you have it.
Nice quiet weekend planned this week so hopefully more crafting will occur. Ruby and her parents have taken themselves off to Cumbria for a few days to stay with friends. I just hope they are having better weather than us :)
Thanks for popping in...Lynne xxx

Simply Less is More # 222
Hello There !
Just popping in to share my card for this weeks Simply Less is More Challenge
It`s colour week and this time we are asked to create a card using opposite sides of the colour wheel,
I spent part of yesterday and quite a bit of today, stamping, embossing, masking and sponging and finished up with such a rubbish card it went in the bin. Then I was at a loss to know what to do.
A bit of raking about and umming and arring and this appeared,
I think I`m pleased with it.
Obviously I`ve gone with pink and lime green.
I started by cutting a panel for my card front and rounding the corners.
I used Kaisercraft Stains stamp with Lime Green Versacolour ink for the background
The feather is from Wplus9 Fanciful Feathers die set cut from a small piece of white linen card and sponged with Spun Sugar DI. I then went along the edges with Versacolor Orchid.
Smile is from a Penny Black die set also cut from a scrap of card.
I finished off with some small drops of Dovecraft 3D Pearl Effects.
Not a lot to tell you this week really although I did get a lesson in grammar from Ruby last thursday.
She had some clear plastic shapes that she`d coloured with glass pens to look like stained glass and said I could have one or two. After I`d chosen mine Ruby was left with a cat and a fish which she placed one on top of the other and asked her mum what would you call it. Mum said it could be a catfish and I said it could be a cat that had eaten a fish.
Ruby gave me a look of absolute despair and said " Grandma, that`s a sentence not a name"
That`s me told then.
Thanks for popping in...Lynne xxx

Pixies crafty snippets wk 130
Hi There!
Before I start...Is anyone elses blogger playing up? In the list of all the blogs I follow I`m only getting one at a time. with the `View More` button under it but that doesn`t work. I`ve tried rebooting and gone to another pc but it`s still the same.
So frustrating !!!
Anyway I`m popping in with a couple of cards for the playground over at Pixies Crafty Snippets.
His and Hers Fanciful Feathers.
The bits of card are off cuts from other projects. The panels have been embossed with a Swiss Dots folder and the banner I`ve made by using a corner of a square nestie..
The papers for `hers` are from 2 Crafty Impressions paper packs ( I only know that because I tucked the snippets back inside the packs lol)
The feathers are cut using Fanciful Feathers die from Wplus9.
The Celebrate ( Die-versions) is cut from a very tiny piece of silver glitter card.
I`ve added white Pearl Maker to decorate the feathers and a small heart shaped gem.
`His` papers are from 2 Papermania Capsule packs, a brown one and a very old yellow/orange one.
The Celebrate for this one is from the same snippet as the orange feather.
I`ve used small brown pearls to decorate the feathers.
I must say I was chuffed to bits to see I`d won the gorgeous little duck stamp in last weeks challenge especially after the cufuffle I caused at the duck pond. Thank you Di and thank you all for your lovely comments.

Simply Less is More # 172
Hi There!
First I`d like to welcome my new follower, thank you for choosing my little blog to follow.
I had full intentions of making my card for this weeks Simply Less is More challenge yesterday. Both the Alans ( husband and son) went down to Wembly to watch Hull City in the FA cup final so I had the day to myself. However, it was far to hot and sunny to be in the loft so I was very lazy and sat in the garden for most of the day. It did give me a chance to come up with some ideas though and I did get a tad carried away and made 3 cards.
The theme for this week is flowers, this is what I came up with,
I did one of those silly quiz things on facebook a couple of weeks ago and apparently if I was a flower I would be a daisy. I must have taken it to heart because I`ve gone daisy mad lol.
For my first card I stamped the background from Paper Smooches Kissables set 1 in orange Versacolor.
The leaf is die cut from a Poppystamps die and adhered using foam pads.
The daisies are punched from white paper and the middles from orange paper.
The sentiment is from Wplus9.
For my second card I stamped the Flourishes Gerbera daisy set and after colouring with markers I cut out a rectangle keeping as many of the flowers in view as possible.
I cut out a larger rectangle in white card and mounted them using foam pads.
The sentiment is Flourishes Tag Lines.
Last one and I cut 2 small panels, one slightly larger than the other, rounded the corners off with a corner punch and mounted them one on top of the other using foam pads.
The leaf is again from Poppystamps and the flower is Sizzix Gerbera Daisy die set. I added a brad to the centre of the flower and placed it on the leaf.
The sentiment is Flourishes Tag Lines also with rounded corners.
As you can see the weather has been lovely again today giving me the chance to take my pics outside for a change. I`m certainly making the most of it as it`s going to change again in a couple of days, ho hum!

Simply Less is More # 165
HAPPY MOTHER`S DAY!
It`s Mother`s day in the UK today so I hope you are all having a lazy ( crafting) day today. I know I am.
It`s a Lucky Dip week at Simply Less is More and the theme is ROUND & ROUND.
As soon as I saw the title of the challenge I had `The wheels of the bus` going round and round in my head all day ( and it`s still there ) so I just had to run with it,
This cute little bus is from Kaisercraft Little Toot set and I`ve coloured it quickly with Promarkers.
The dotty paper is from Pink Petticoat.
The sentiment is from Wplus9.
I`ve simply made a panel andcut a circle with a nestie circle die then placed the panel using foam pads.
I have made another card which I`ll post tomorrow but I couldn`t resist the urge to use this one lol.
My blog friend Viv asked me how I was getting on now that I have more time on my hands. Well...embarking on a mad spring clean before we go on holiday has taken quite a lot of time up. I didn`t realise how mucky the house was until I started digging it out ;) I have also started baking again. Not huge batches like I`d intended but I`ve made a couple of cakes ( lemon drizzle & fruit) and home made meat pies.I did have a catastrophe though. We were given a food mixer as a wedding present 38 years ago next month and it decided to blow up this week. I really don`t think it owes me anything though the amount of use I`ve had from it. I`ve done everything from liquidising baby food to making umpteen Christmas, birthday and just plain Victoria sponge cakes.
So all in all I`m loving every minute of being a lady of leisure although there still aren`t enough hours in the day. I really don`t know how I found the time to go to work.

Simply Less is More # 164 take 2
Good evening all.
I`m back to share a second card for this weeks challenge at Simply Less is More, this time with a little more effort in it.
I`d started this card for last weeks masking/ stencilling challenge but ran out of time. I say started, what I mean is, I`d inked up the panel and cut out the mask but thats as far as I got. When I came to take a second look I realised that I could use it for this week too.
For this weeks challenge we are to use 3 of something and also to comment on 3 entries that we don`t usually comment on. See what you think;
I inked the panel with Spun Sugar DI and Memento Rose Bud.
I made the mask using some acetate and the Lorelai Leaf die from Poppy Stamps then made some more homemade embossing paste with Polyfilla and Sap Green water colour paint.
While the EP was still wet I sprinkled a tiny bit of Glamour Dust glitter on the leaves.
Once dry I added some punched daisies with flat back pearl centres.
The sentiment is Wplus9 stamped in Memento Black.
I added the panel using foam pads
So... I`ve got 3 colours, pink green and white. 3 flowers, 3 pearl centres and just to be fussy, the branch is in 3 parts.
The leaf isn`t as sharp as I would have liked but I think I chose an awkward shape to emboss with quite a few `loose` parts. That`s my excuse anyway.
Thanks for popping in...Lynne xxx

Simply Less is More # 164
Good evening all.
I hope I find you well. Our spring weather didn`t last long. We`re back to march winds and cold rain for now which is to be expected really. I think we`ve been spoilt these past couple of weeks. It was nice while it lasted though.
This week at Simply Less is More we are asked to use three of something on our creations and also visit and comment on at least three other Limettes, preferably three we don`t normally visit.
I do try to visit as many people as possible but somehow the time just runs away with me. I will do my very best to put that right.
Onto my card;
A really quick and simple card for today.
I`ve used 3 stars cut from glitter card using a Sizzix die, in 3 colours.
The sentiment is from Wplus9 and was a gift from my lovely blog friend Tara.
I am working on another card with a bit more detail on and, hopefully will post it tomorrow.
Thanks for popping in...Lynne xxx
