Clean and simple challenge #87

Happy Sunday to you all!

I hope the weather is better where you are than here. It`s persisting down and just a bit chilly. I thought the sun was here to stay, a bit optimistic I know but a girl can hope lol.

Here is this weeks sketch from CAS and this is my take on it.
I`ve used a scrap of paper from Kameo cards.
The leaf stamp is from Papertrey Turning a new leaf
and the sentiment is also from Papertrey.
I`ve punched some small flowers in the same DP and added a blue gem.
A little bit of scoring to give some texture and some larger gems to finish it off.

Right I`m off to cook Sunday lunch.
Thanks for looking Lynne xxx

Tulips for spring

Happy Friday every one!

Wow it`s nearly the weekend and I can`t wait.

Todays card is a very simple spring card. I love pink and green together and this image just shouted out to be teamed up with a bit of gingham.
The image is another from Microsoft Greetings just cut out and mounted onto some pink card.
I`ve used Papermania Capsule collection DP and layered it onto some more of the pink card and mounted that onto a plain white card.
A piece of gingham ribbon and a bow to finish.

In my last post I said I`d had a bit of do. We`ve been having a few problems lately with Mum falling at the home. Nothing too serious but a couple of times she`s banged her head quite badly and because it bled, it automatically means a hospital visit. Mums at the stage now where everything is a fight and trying to examine her head by nursing staff that are unused to dementia patients is, to say the least, a chore.
Anyway the staff at the home have been trying to get Mum a head guard to solve this problem. The ones you get at the hospital are the ones used for epileptics and are a bit like a cycle helmet but one of psychiatric nurses brought in a foam helmet to try. ( like the one the goalie wears). While I was there on wednesday one of the carers came to fit this helmet onto Mum and she really didn`t like it.  She gets frightened easily and doesn`t like any sort of upheaval but I wasn`t prepared for the fight we had over this flipping helmet. Mum screamed and tried to get it off, I tried to hold her hands down and calm her with soothing words, she slapped me. We finally managed to get it on and fastened and within two seconds she had forgotten all about it and was quite happily wandering about wearing her helmet. Honestly it`s like trying to cope with a large toddler having a tantrum. I feel sorry for the staff having to go through that every day and yet they are so good with her. Bless her.
Anyway, fingers crossed, no more banged heads.

Thanks for putting up with my ramblings.

Another Vintage Card

Good evening!

A really quick post tonight I`m afraid. I`ve had a bit of a do today but I`ll tell you more later.

Todays card is more of the same.
The image is printed from Microsoft Greetings 2001 and cut out with a Spellbinders oval die.
The DP are from Papermania mounted onto some fawn card.
I`ve cut two labels 4 dies in fawn card and added some flowers from my stash.
Sorry it`s a bit short and to the point.
Thanks for looking, Lynne xxx

A bit vintage (y)

Good morning and a happy tuesday to you all. I`m in an exceptionally good mood today.

First of all I would like to thank you all for leaving such lovely comments on my first challenge card.

Then I finally managed to get the crafty blogs thingy on properly and my blog is whizzing up the ratings ( well climbing slowly but at least it`s moving lol).

The wallpapering is nearly done and the sun is shining. What more could a girl ask for.

Right, on to todays card. As I said earlier on the blog, I gave up work last year to give me more time but this means I have much less money to spend on crafty things. I get bored using the same stamps over and over again and I`m sure you lot must get bored seeing the same stamps. I did rake out my decoupage papers and there some more of these to post but over the weekend I remembered about some craft cd`s that I bought years ago. The first one that I got when we bought our first pc was a Microsoft Greetings 2001. So I brought it out again and found some rather nice images. I know it`s a bit like cheating `cos theres no stamping involved but I`m quite pleased with the result on this one.

The DP is from Papermania Capsule collection.
The image is cut out with a Labels 4 Spellbinders die and I`ve just added some roses, ribbon and lace from my stash.

Sorry it`s a bit of rambling post today.
Thanks for popping in ...Lynne xxx

My first ever sketch challenge

Hi to you all!

This is a first for me. For one reason or another I`ve never entered into any sort of a challenge before.I`ve never felt confident  or brave enough to show my cards to the world, in fact it took me donkeys years to start my blog. Anyway I found these super easy peasy sketches on Clean & Simple site so I thought I`d give it a go.

This is my take on the above sketch.
Very simple to make, I ran some scrap pieces of card through the cuttlebug using Swiss dots and Swirls folders. Then just cut the circles out using Spellbinders circles dies.
The sentiment is from Papertrey.

Now I`ve had a go at this one, I`m off to find some more challenging challengies.
Thanks for popping in Lynne xxx

And now for something completely different!

A change from my usual style, not that I`ve got one as such as it changes all the time, but this is a definate move away from the norm.

Still sticking to my usual clean and simple I suppose but no great flourishes of ribbon or jewels.
The stamps are Papertrey Turning a new leaf. I stamped first in yellow, then orange, then red.
I found this gorgeous matching DP from Shabby Princess which was pretty lucky really because I`d already stamped it and then panicked when I couldn`t find a paper lol.
I`ve mounted the stamped card onto some orange card and added a yellow ribbon tied in a simple knot.
The sentiment is also from Papertrey and is cut out with a tag punch.

Well my decorating is coming along......slowly! I`d forgotten how much hard work it is painting ceilings. The gloss went on the doors like a dream though so not much left to do. I`m going to give it a rest for the weekend because football takes over in our house and it`s quite difficult trying to wallpaper around two grown men jumping up and down either with joy or anger depending on how well Hull City are doing at the time. If they lose again the atmosphere will be terrible. Thank God for my craft room lol.
Thanks for popping in and enjoy the lovely weekend weather,

Tulips

Happy Saturday to you all!

Well I`m supposed to be decorating my living room today but it`s much too nice to get blathered in paint. Besides, I`m quite getting used to the bare plaster look lol. Maybe tomorrow.....

Todays card is made using a freebie digi stamp from `Fred she said`. I love the clean lines of this stamp, very easy to colour.
I`ve coloured the image with watercolour pencils.
The DP is another freebie and I think thats from Fred too but I can`t remember, sorry.
I`ve used a Martha Stewart Doily punch on some orange card and scored some lines too to give it some depth.I`ve also added some peach flat backed pearls.
The image is cut out and mounted onto a circle printed with a set from Shabby Princess. The sentiment is by Papertrey.

Thats all for now folks, going to enjoy the fine weather while I can. Thanks for popping in

Happy Easter Sunday

Good morning all!

Another decoupage card today, quite straight forward and simple ( a bit like me really lol)

The DP is by nitwits (thanks Pops for letting me know about these) and is gorgeous. I`ve layered onto some kraft coloured card.
I cut 2 circles with Spellbinders dies in a very dark pink.
The decoupaged image is mounted onto some kraft coloured card cut with a spellbinders labels die.
The sentiment is from Papertrey and is stamped onto another label.

Well we`ve been to see the grandkids today and given them their eggs. I don`t expect they`ll last very long lol.
Got the lamb roasting nicely in the oven and the OH is sat in front of the telly, which gives me a few more minutes for crafting.

Thanks for popping in, Lynne xxx

Happy Easter Everyone!!!

It`s turned out to be a beautiful warm sunny day here in Hull  and I`m sat in the loft Ha ha.!
Never mind. I`ve had a good clean up, hubby`s got the footie on the radio so I`m crafting.

For my card today I have gone back to something I first starting card making with...Decoupage.
I had a good sort out of my craft stash the other day and found a box full of decoupage papers and books that I had almost forgotten about. One thing I like about this is that I can take it downstairs and cut out while I`m watching the telly then put it all together the next day.

Seeing as the sun is shining I thought I`d show a spring flower card today.
The BG is by Shabby Princess and is layered onto some pale pink card.
I used the same pink card, cut into an oval with a Spellbinders die, to mount the image.
The small label is a Woodware punch and the sentiment is from Papertrey.

Thanks for popping in and don`t eat too many chocolate eggs lol.
