A baby card and an oops!

Happy Monday to you all!

First the oops. I promised I would post the wedding invitations when they were ready but Alan and Rachel popped in on saturday to have a peek and took them home to show Rachels Mum. Before I`d had a chance to take pics!. So as soon as I get them back I`ll post, sorry.

Right, onto my card for today. When I first started card making seriously it was because I hurt my foot quite badly and had to rest it for over a month. I was almost crawling the walls with bordom and started to channel hop on the telly and discovered create and craft channel. One of the first programs I watched was a Wendy Stenton pop out cards one where she used a beautiful baby stamp on a star pop out. I tried and tried to get that stamp but the only place I could find it was on a USA site and it was discontinued.. Then the other day while surfing the net (as you do) I happened across this stamp on the Blade Rubber site. Ofcourse I ordered it immediately and it arrived the next day.  I cannot begin to tell you how excited I was. Now I`ve looked on Bladerubber loads of times and it hasn`t been there so I can only assume it`s been brought out of retirement. Anyway I`m chuffed to bits.

So this is it, thestamp is by PSX and I`ve stamped and embossed in detail silver.
I`ve used a tiny bit of colour on the gown but apart from that I`ve left it plain.
I`ve used my old favourite Swiss Dots and finished the edge with a Fiskars punch.
The blue paper is a freebie from Jak Heath and I`ve punched that too.
I`ve added some white and silver ribbon and mounted the stamped image onto a silver star.
The sentiment is computer generated and cut out with a spellbinders circle.

I`ve waited seven years for that stamp but I think it was worth it lol
Thanks for popping in...Lynne xxx

Happy Saturday!!

Just a quick post today as I`m waiting for my future daughter in law to arrive with bundles of wedding stuff to go through.

This is another stamp from Papertrey`s Autumn abundance set.
I`ve stamped the image with black Staison ink and coloured it with water colour pencils.
I put some plain white card through the cuttlebug with the swiss dots folder and matted onto some orange card.
Added some ribbon, a bow and some flat backed pearls. I haven`t added a sentiment yet as I`m not sure who or what it`s for lol.

Thanks for popping in

Spring has sprung

...well for now anyway. It`s a glorious day today, warm, hazy sunshine which shows up the dust everywhere. lol.Oh well you can`t have it all ways.

I had a bit of a `moment` yesterday :0  My computer is in my craft room in the loft (which is really just the roof space) and yesterday afternoon I was working merrily away. I`d taken a cup of coffee up with me but got so carried away with my crafting it got cold before I`d finished it. Anyway, when I`d done what I needed to I came down and put my cup on the bannister rail while I popped to the loo. I came out, went to grab my cup and knocked it on the floor. Isn`t it surprising how far an inch of coffee will go? It was all up the bedroom door and jamb, the wall and of course a puddle on the carpet. I set too and cleaned it up and thought no more about it. This morning I went to make the bed and noticed some stains on the duvet cover and realised at once that it was coffee but when I looked around I couldn`t believe my eyes. There were coffee runs all down the side of the wardrobe, from ceiling to floor and huge splatters on the ceiling itself about 8 feet into the room. How I missed them when I went to bed I have no idea. Should have gone to Specsavers I think rofl. Anyway the bedroom has had a quick spruce up and I haven`t found any more rogue coffee stains . From now on then, `No more coffee upstairs`!

My card today is a really quick bright sunny one.
I wanted to stamp white damask onto yellow card but my white ink just didn`t show up at all so I quickly sprinkled white embossing powder onto it and it came up much better. I`m quite pleased with the result actually because it gives the image a nice sheen.
The stamp is Elusive Images Damask Delights.
The flower is a mixture from my stash and I`ve finished it with a gem brad.
The sentiment is from Papertrey.

Thanks for popping in and I apologise for my ramble lol !!!

Thanks to you all.

Can I firstly say thank you for all your lovely comments regarding my Mum. She was diagnosed with Alzheimers 10 years ago so we`ve had plenty of time to get used to it. It`s a really cruel illness because not only does it take away your faculties it takes your dignity aswell. Anyway ...enough of the depressing stuff.

We`ve had some really good news this week. My son and his girlfriend Rachel have named the day..Yeah..
They`ve not booked the church yet but they are hoping for september 2011 and they`ve asked me to make the invitations :) I`ve already started on some samples and I`ll post them later when they`re all finished. I`m so excited I`m like a kid at Christmas.

Right..On to my card for today;
Another clean and simple card but just for a change I`ve punched 3 circles with the spellbinders circle die. I`ve used Pink Petticoat Spring stripes paper behind them.
The stamp is from a  set from Anitas called Cottage Garden and I`ve coloured them with watercolour pencils and added a tiny bit of glamour dust
The sentiment stamp is from Papertrey.

Thank you for popping in

Happy Wednesday to you all!

I`m a bit late coming on today as I`ve been to see Mum this morning. As you all know she is in the late stages of Alzheimers Disease. She has lost so much weight these past few months it is unbelieveable. Apparently it all to do with the illness but when it`s your Mum it`s very upsetting. Anyway I`ve been and she`s fine so I left her listening to the local radio station.

It will be my eldest grandaughters 14th birthday in April and I wanted to make her card a bit different this time. Fourteen is one of those funny ages when you`re not a kid anymore but not quite grown up either, I always think. She`s a very girlie girl and loves her pinks so I thought I`d do something a bit funky and retro for a change but still frilly and girlie.

The DP is Dovecraft retro florals.
I cut 2 borders with the spellbinders Borderbilities
classic lace border die in bright pink pearl card.
I added a ribbon and bow (ofcourse) in matching pink and a flower from Prima.
The sentiment is computer generated because I don`t have a stamp and is cut out with a nesties labels 4 die.

Thanks for looking...Lynne xxx

Mothers Day

Good Morning to you all!

First of all an apology for being a bad blogger. I have been crafting, just not posting much lately. I have, however been keeping an eye on all my lovely blogger buddies and getting inspiration from all over the place.

Today I thought I`d share my Mothers day cards with you. I made two, obviously, one for my Mum and one for Alans Mum. I always make them the same because as far as I`m concerned, I have two Mums.
This time I did different colours but the same design.

The stamp is ofcourse my Flourishes small Sweetpea.
I stamped and embossed in gold detail embossing powder.
I coloured using Marvy Brush markers.
The background card is embossed using Cuttlebug Swiss Dots.
I`ve added a ribbon and bow and some flat backed pearls.
The sentiment stamp is from Elusive images Mothers Day set.

Thanks for looking.....Lynne xxx
