In the Pink wk 2
Good afternoon All!
I`m still grinning from ear to ear since getting a top six spot on the very first challenge at In the Pink. Ofcourse I just had to enter week 2 didn`t I? This time the theme is " Things with Wings" .
What better excuse did I need to ink up the gorgeous Candytuft fairy from Crafters Companion?
Dp is Papermania Capsule Collection.
Image stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and cut out with a Romantic Rectangles Die ( Spellbinders)
Ribbon and bow from stash.
Decorative pin from Wild Orchid Crafts with 2 beads added.
Sentiment from same stamp set cut out with Floral Ovals Die.
Image coloured with Promarkers and Spectrum Noir pens with Glamour dust on wings.
Thanks for popping in...Lynne xxx

Less is More # 82
Good Afternoon All!
Well, what a week it`s been. Not a lot of crafting going on as you`ll have noticed. I`ve been doing my impression of a domestic goddess and trying to catch up on all the jobs that I keep putting off for another day. I`m getting there, slowly, but it`s the week end and it`s ME time.
I have two massive whoo hoo`s to shout about. Not only was I showcased for the Fur and Feathers week at Simply Less is More ( thank you ladies I`m still grinning) I got a top six spot on the very first In The Pink Challenge.
My head is getting bigger by the minute ;-)
I would also like to welcome my latest follower Dagmar (Gutsport 56) thank you for choosing my little blog.
We are, at this moment, having the biggest thunder storm I`ve seen in ages. The rain is like a sheet and there`s hailstone too and the thunder is continuous. I`ve not seen lightening yet but it`s sure to be around. I`m in the loft so you can imagine the noise as the hail hits the roof. I love a good thunder storm but this is a bit too noisy for me. I shall persevere as long as I can hee hee :-)
Right, enough about me, onto this weeks challenge at Simply Less is More A nice easy one this week.
It`s a 3 2 1. Which means we are to use 3 of something, 2 of something and 1 of something else.
Here is my card,
I have used;
3 banners
2 sunflowers
1 frame
The stamp is a new to me one that I recieved in the post this week. Flourishes Sunflowers. My neighbour has some gorgeous sunflowers in her garden at the moment and it`s like continuous sunshine.
The frame is made using 2 sizes of spellbinders oval nesties. The banners are made from yellow card, cut into strips and the inverted `V` is made using the corner of a square nestie.
The sentiment is also from the same Flourishes set.
I`m also entering this card into the challenge at cas-ual fridays
which is banners or flags.
Well 2 minutes after I typed that I hadn`t seen lightening there was a huge flash and an immediate very loud crack of thunder. That was it for me. I unplugged the comp and I was down those loft ladders quick as a flash (pardon the pun). Alan was downstairs watching the footie and he said the telly flashed too which scared him a bit. I can honestly say that that is the first time in my almost 58 years that I`ve ever been scared of thunder.
Any way it`s over now and everythings ok, thank goodness.
Massive apologies for the dis- jointed and rambling post. Hopefully I`ll be a bit calmer next time.

Less is More # 81
Good Afternoon All!
And a happy sunday to you. I hope the weather is treating you well.
The challenge this week at Simply Less is More is to use Tearing on your card. Not something I do as a rule, the neat freak in me demands neat, straight edges but I`ve rebelled against it and come up with this one
.
Base card is Papermill Linen card.
I stamped a Flourishes Orchids stamp onto a scrap piece of linen card and coloured it with Promarkers then simply tore along the bottom corner and edge. I then inked along the torn edge with an Orchid Versa Color ink pad. Not sure if I like this bit now.
The sentiment is from the same Flourishes set.
I haven`t done a Ruby update for a while and a few of you have been asking after her so I`ll give you the latest news.
Ruby should have had another round of chemo last week but her bloods were low again so she had to have another transfusion. She is absolutely fine but gets tired easily when her blood count is low. She is back at Leeds General Infirmary tomorrow for a kidney function test and they`ll do a blood test too, if all is well she can go ahead with her chemo.
I can`t remember if I`ve already told you about this or not ( it`s my age you know) but last time Ruby was at LGI was just before the Olympics started, when the Torch Relay was still going on. One of the patients from the cancer unit was chosen to carry the torch through a part of Leeds and proudly brought it in to the unit afterwards.
All the children that were in the unit that day had their photo`s taken with the torch. This is Ruby holding it.
Not the best piccy, I pinched this one from facebook. I`m hoping the original has a bit more of her on it.
You may have noticed that the fundraising has been a bit slow lately too. We actually have quite a good amount but it hasn`t been forwarded to Candlelighters yet. We`re hanging onto the money raised from Angies headshave (about £150) because we need to pay up front for Cheryls skydive but will get it back later plus more hopefully from sponsorship.
We were also hoping to do a summer fayre either at the school or the local community centre but to be honest Cheryl has had far too much on her plate going backwards and forwards to hospital, to organise anything so we`ve made a joint decision to wait until next year when everythings calmed down a bit. This will give me much more time to get a decent selection of cards made too.
I`ll let you know how Ruby gets on this next week.

Romantic Rectangles
Good afternoon All.
A quick post today as I just wanted to show you my latest card.
This is made with another new to me set of Spellbinders dies, RomanticRectangles.
I started with the largest in the set and adhered it to the card base using foam pads.
Then I ran a piece of card through the CB using the Leafy Branch EF before cutting it out with the next size die.
I`ve chalked over the embssing with some very pale pink chalk and added a strip of Classic Lace Border die cut and some ribbon. This was also placed using foam pads.
I added a bow and a large Tea Rose in pale pink and cream and some tiny pink pearls that my friend Karen gave me, to the corners.
The sentiment is by Personal Impressions cut out with a Floral Oval Die and placed with foam pads.
I`m pleased with this one and I think it would also make a nice wedding card, watch this space lol.
Before I go I would like to welcome my latest follower, Mary H. Thank you Mary for choosing my blog .

Serenity
Hi everyone. It`s our friend Jean`s birthday today so naturally I made her a card.
While we were away we popped into the local market town and I found a stall selling craft bits. I picked up two paper pads by Hono, a company I`d never heard of but they are lovely papers and perfect for this type of card. I teamed it up with some ivory pearlescent card and this gorgeous image by Just Inklined.
I`ve used subtle colours (Promarkers and Spectrum Noir Pens) to go with the DP and chalks for the sky and grass.
The frame is Spellbinders Fleur de Lis squares and the corners are Fleur de Lis accents.
The ribbon is from my stash and I`ve finished off with a decorative pearl that I picked up from the Mei Flower stall at the craft fair I went to a couple of weeks ago.
It`s a beautiful day here, warm and sunny but with a lovely breeze, perfect for drying the washing. Oh simple pleasures :-)
Enjoy the rest of your day.

Yet more Dies
Good Evening All!
Yep, I`m back with another card using my new dies. I`ve been playing mix and match and have been having great fun. It`s also a terrific way to use up your snippets of card ( and I have so much). So I`m entering this one into Pixies Crafty Snippets Challenge.
The DP is Pink Petticoat brocade which I had to print off as I didn`t have any pale yellow among my snippets but all the card is scraps.
The Square doily is from the back of a square card that I messed up.
Other dies I`ve used are; Fleur de Lis Motifs and Lacey Circles, all Spellbinders.
The Organza Ribbon is from my stash as are the flowers.I`ve added some pale yellow pearls to finish and a decorative pin.
The sentiment is computer generated.
A quick tip...Sometimes when I`m using the more intricate dies they can be very hard to remove the card. I read somewhere to run them through with wax paper but I haven`t got any so I gently rubbed mine with an old candle, not too hard as it acts like a cheese grater and makes a heck of a mess but it seems to work.

To Have and to Hold
Good afternoon all!
I`ve been playing with my dies again, this time I`ve made a wedding card.
I found a pearlescent card in my stash that I bought years ago and it screamed wedding card to me so I just had to go along with it.
I found a piece of ivory pearlescent card in the scrap box and cut it out with a Spellbinders Lace Doily Motifs die.
Another scrap of the pink, yes it is pink IRL but looks a bit salmony on here, stamped with a sentiment from Joanna Sheen and embossed in silver detail EP then cut out with a nestie square.
Both die cuts are raised with foam pads
I`ve added a bow which in reality is the same shade as the card, and some decorative pins.
Edited to add; I`m entering this card into the new In the Pink challenge. Thanks Sylvia Ann for reminding me.

Less is More # 80
Woo hoo, it`s still saturday and I`m posting my entry for Simply Less is More.
Good afternoon All. I`m early this week which makes a nice change. It`s one layer week this week and we are to make a card featuring Fur or Feathers.
I must admit to still getting a bit jittery at one layer cards although I am getting much better. I also worried that I didn`t have many furry or feathery stamps but then I remembered my Beatrix Potter, Peter Rabbit set from Crafters Companion.
This is what I came up with,
My first card features the Robin, coloured with Promarkers and watercolour pencils.
His breast seems a bit bright in the pic but IRL it`s much lighter.
My second card doesn`t exactly show a lot of fur but it`s there...All you can see is Peters bum sticking out of the watering can, cheeky boy.
Image is coloured with Promarkers.
Thanks for all your comments on last weeks entry. Enjoy the rest of your day.

Pixies Crafty Snippets # 31
Good Morning All!
Well I certainly hope the sun is shining as brightly where you are as it is here. It`s a beautiful day today :-)
I`ve been meaning to post this card for ages but life keeps getting in the way. I was lucky enough to win a set of Promarkers from Di at Pixies Crafty Workshop. They were waiting for me when I got back from my hols, all beautifully wrapped in the loveliest butterfly ribbon and with a fabby card from Di too ( thanks Di). It seemed rude not to use the ribbon for a snippet make and as I`ve been treating myself to some new dies (no pun intended ) I put this together.
I`ve used those little bits you get left over when you make a 6x6 card from an A4 sheet to make the die cuts, Spellbinders Lace Doily Motifs.
The DP is Pink Petticoat Vintage Roses.
The butterflies are punched with a MS punch from some more PP papers with a bit of glamour dust added.
No sentiment `cos basically there was no room for one, might make a tag later.
Off to play with some more dies, enjoy the rest of your day.

Cas_ual Fridays # 64
Hello again, this is my second post today , please scroll down for my LiM card.
The challenge this week at Cas_ual Fridays is to create a clean and simple project featuring things you`d see in the sky.
Here is my take on the challenge,
The blue card has a bit of sparkle in it although you can`t really see it in the pic.
Stars are cut out with a X cut nested die.
Sentiment is made up from Watzing Mouse Victorian Alphabet set stamped in clear embossing ink and embossed in Silver EP.
Enjoy the rest of your day.

Less is More # 79
Good Morning All!
I hope I find you well. The weather here has been wonderful. Noneof the storms that other parts of the country have had and, although we`ve had showers forecast, that`s all we have had. Just the odd light shower. How lucky are we?
Onto this weeks challenge at Simply Less is More. As it`s the first week of a new month, it`s a colour challenge and the colours are...Blue & Green.
I knew just what I was going to do but then I made the mistake of peeking at the other entries and found that someone else had beat me to it. After several failed attempts to try something else I reverted to plan A. Apologies if anyone thinks I`ve copied. I really did try to come up with something else :(
After my extremely early trip to the craft fair last saturday, I went back on the correct day (sunday) and had a fabby time spending my pennies and just browsing all the lovely goodies on sale. One of the things I bought was this die from Memory Box. I`ve never used MB dies before but they are fabulous. No spoiling your die cut trying to ease it out of the die, they literally just fall out, wonderful.
Anyway I`m waffling. I stamped a script stamp from Indigo Blu in baby blue Versa colour.
Cut out two of the die cuts, one in blue and one in green and chopped the heads off. I added Glossy Accents to the blue flower heads and, when dry, placed them on the stem.
The sentiment is a mix of Waltzing Mouse ( wishes) and Layers of Color ( birthday).
Enjoy the rest of your day.

Ruby`s 4th Birthday
Hello Blog Friends,
I`m sure I must have mentioned that it was Ruby`s 4th birthday last tuesday (31st July). It really doesn`t seem like 5 minutes since I watched her being born and with everything that she`s been through these last few months, it seems like an extra special birthday. She received lots of presents, ofcourse, and some fabulous new clothes. As she already has more toys than Toys R Us we got her some books. I like to encourage all the kids to read as much as possible and Ruby does love her books.
Anyway, I made her a card and Angie asked if I`d make one from her too so I`m sharing them both today.
First up is the one I made for Angie to send.
Image is Wee Suzi from Wee Stamps coloured with Promarkers and Spectrum Noir pens, cut out with a nestie oval die and matted onto a nestie beaded oval.
DP is by Pink Petticoat
The butterflys are MS punch
Ribbon from stash
For the card from Alan and myself I used a digi stamp from Mo digital pencil.
coloured with markers and added a bit of glamour dust.
The DP is actually Me to You Christmas paper but as it`s not obviously christmassy I thought it worked well with the colours on the image.
I made 3 glitter stars using a nested stars die by X Cut and made the wand by using 2 dies and adding some clear gems. There is a stick that took me ages to make by rolling some pink tissue paper with a skewer but I`ve almost hidden it behind the image.
The glitter no 4 is from a pack from Poundland.
I`ve scheduled this post so I hope it works, my last one didn`t for some reason. Fingers crossed :)
Enjoy the rest of your day.

New Nest
Good Afternoon All!
Well so much for me posting more this week than last. It`s taken me all week to find the time to get on the computer but at last things are starting to settle down, ( famous last words lol)
Hubby`s work partner, Maggie is moving into a new bungalow this week so he asked me to make her a card. She has a parrot called Connie so this image from Beccy`s Place fit the bill perfectly.
DP is Papermania Capsule Collection.
Image coloured with Promarkers and Spectrum Noir pens and cut out with Spellbinders Floral Ovals.
Ribbon from stash.
Beccy has a challenge for August to use any digi from her site, free or bought, so I`m entering this card.
I`ve been up since 5.30 this morning. Gone right through the house and got two lines of washing done so I`m going to play in the craft room with my new goodies this afternoon. See you tomorrow with another card.
Thanks for popping in...Lynne xxx

St Lukes Charity Card Challenge...August.
Good Morning All!
It`s the 1st of the month which can only mean one thing...a brand new challenge from St Lukes Charity Card Challenge and this month we want you to get into the Olympic spirit and make a sporty card.
Remember, sports are not just for the boys, there are plenty of feminine sports out there too.
Having said that, my card is definitely a male card,
Tent fold A6 card base with scored lines.
Union Jack is a freebie from Pink Petticoat
Image is from Just Inklined
Coloured with Promarkers and Spectrum Noir Pens.
All details for donating cards to this very worthy cause are on the main blog.
