Happy Father's Day

Hi there,

I'm nipping in quickly to share the card I made for my Dad for fathers day. He's 85 now and a bit poorly at the moment so I treasure every celebration I can share with him.

All the papers are from Pink Petticoat
Sentiment is by Layer of Color
I've used  sage green glitter card for the dad

Pink, yellow and blue

Hello there

It's my sister in laws birthday tomorrow (thursday) so I'm popping in to share the card I made for her.

I'm back to layers and flowers this time, elegant chic I prefer to call it

I've used papers from The Lovely Studio, Brocade and Ticking, again my 'go to' papers.
Frame is made using 2 square dies from Die- namics
Flowers are, as usual, from Wild Orchid Crafts.
Leaf dies are from The Works and Amazon
Sentiment is computer generated.
I've finished off with a few small clear gemstones

Simply Less is More...Friendship

Hello there,

I'm popping in today with my entry for this fortnights Less is More challenge, which is Friendship.
I've been in a CAS sort of mood for a couple weeks now so couldn't wait to get started on this one.

A few weeks ago I had a messy session making marbled backgrounds using the shaving foam technique and some cheap acrylic paints. I used small amount to cut out my circle and the Memory Box Branches.
Before that though I stamped a flower from a set by Chocolate Baroque onto the front panel. I wanted a faint image so used a nearly dry Spun Sugar Distress ink pad.
I cut a deckled edge rectangle from a Caroles Craft die set and embossed it with a Craft Concepts Wood grain folder.
The sentiment is from a Flourishes set called Gerbera daisies stamped in black versamark.
To finish off I punched a tiny heart from the circle and placed the heart above the sentiment.

I do enjoy making CAS cards and like to keep them as simple as possible but I do love my colour too and I think the pop of colour from the marbled paper is just enough.

Thank you for looking today X

Thinking of you

Hello there,

I have a long list of commissioned and family cards to make before the end of July that I really should be getting on with, but I decided to attempt the dreaded One Layer Challenge at Simply Less is More. instead. It's a long time since I made a one layer card so be gentle with me.

Simple sponging through a die cut template.
A stamped leaf in black over top and a short sentiment.

I used distress inks in Spiced Marmalade, Mustard Seed and Shabby Shutters.
Leaf stamp is Crafters Companion.
 Sentiment is by Flourishes.

Thank you for popping in x

1st wedding anniversary card

Hello,

I have an anniversary card to share today.
This is for the brother and sister in law of a friend of mine. I made their wedding card last year so I've stuck with the same colours.

The base card is cream with burgundy inlay.

The scallop dies are from Spellbinders
The heart is by Sizzix
Leaves are from a die set from the Works
Flowers are from a local haberdashery.

Thanks for popping in x

Handmade background papers

Hello all

Because of my neglect of my poor little blog over the last few months I've also not joined in with any challenges either.  I noticed the latest challenge at Simply Less is More is a colour challenge and, because I spent Wednesday morning getting messy with inks and paints, I thought I'd join in.
This time it's the colour of their banner, yellow, gray and blue.
I began my messiness with marbling using the shaving foam method. I love doing this and I'm always amazed at how easy it is to make such a pretty pattern.

So, a simple design with a circular window.
The butterfly is from memory box.

I've enjoyed getting back into the swing of things, thanks for popping in.

30th birthday card

Hi,
Well the weather is certainly changeable this week. Lovely and warm with plenty of sunshine since Thursday and today the heating is back on.
But whatever the weather there's always time for crafting. A quick share today of a card I made for a girl I used to work with.

Shill is a nickname, her real name is Charlene.
Backing papers are from The Lovely Studio (formally Pink Petticoat)
The circle die is from the Works. The are super dies, cut crisp and clean and are very cheap compared to some others.
Flowers are, as always, Wild Orchid Crafts.
