...to someone who is desperately trying to use up their snippet stash. How about raking through your massive pile of card bits and finding loads of DP that you had forgotten even existed, Arrrgh!!!
Just goes to show what a state my craft room is in and how much it needs sorting. So that`s it from now on, no more new papers, no more printing off digi papers and no more cutting into full sheets until the pile has gone down. Yeah, right...until I need something in a colour that I just don`t have in the snippet box...I hereby pledge to do my best, for Queen and country, to rid my craft room of snippets. Full Stop!
Hee hee, we`ll see. The trouble is that now I`m going over to the Clean and Simple side, I`m not using much paper at all. Might be a good thing, we`ll have to wait and see.
I have 2 snippet makes today for Jules Crafty Snippets, both quite similar.
Both using snippets from a Papermania Colossal DP pack.
I have loads of these papers. Still quite a lot of full sheets as you got 100 sheets in a pack but these are from my snippet stash.
I`ve used a stamp from Chocolate Baroque Autumn Hedgerow set stamped in Versafine black.
I tend to buy alot of silhouette stamps, mainly because I really likethem but partly because I`m such a rubbish colourer inner ( as you can see from the next card)
Same papers, different colour. The stamp is another from Chocolate Baroque called Fresh Florals.
Quite often when I have to colour I heat emboss the image so it gives an edge that even I can`t go over. I think I`m going to have to remember to do this more often.
Well the weather has been wonderful here today. Red hot wall to wall sunshine and I`ve spent most of it in the loft with the window open and the fan on.I`m sure I`ll moan along with everyone else on tuesday when it rains but honestly it`s the only time I`ve had .
The trouble with me is that I`m never happy. I don`t like the cold, but I can`t cope with the heat either. I simply don`t like extremes. Wish it could be just pleasantly warm all the time lol.

Less is More Meets Cas-ual Fridays
Good Morning All!
I can`t believe my card for this weeks Less is More Challenge has taken so long to come to fruition. Not that it`s complicated or anything, just that life has conspired once more to keep me out of the craft room. Anyway, enough of me moaning again, it`s finally done.
We have a sketch to follow this week. A nice easy peasy one and already there are so many fabby entries.
This is the sketch for LiM while over on Cas-ual Fridays they are asking us to Get Edgy. We can use our punches, torn paper or anything to edge our designs.
Here is my card,
It looks a bit wonky but that`s down to my not so brilliant photographing skills. Mr Blogger is playing games again too and needs 2 or 3 prompts to download piccies so my stress levels are climbing lol.
Back to the card..
White base card 5x5.
Martha Stewart Trellis border punch raised on foam pads.
Very pale green leaf die from Marianne Designs.
Hot pink handmade flowers with pink gem brads in centre.
Sentiment from Flourishes Tag Lines stamped in Versafine Black.
Obviously I`ve flipped the sketch on it`s side and I`m rather pleased with this one even though it`s taken nearly 12 hours to finish.lol.
Right I`m off to do some more crafting while I get the chance, I`m locking the doors, taking the phone off the hook and pretending I`m out.

Another snippet card
Good Morning All!
I have another card to support Jules in her quest to rid the world of our ever increasing pile of snippets.
I was so taken with Paulines entry for this weeks less is more challenge that I thought I would use some of her design in a card of my own. Check out Paulines, it`s fabulous and much better than mine.
I had a good old rake around in my bit box and found a small piece that I`d printed off from an Artilicious CD, Filigree Fusion.
Please accept my apologies for the appalling photo. I bought some cheap batteries for my camera and they last for two pics and run out. Serves me right for buying cheapies and not recharging the rechargable one`s that I have. And as ususal I`m rushing about trying to do 6 jobs at once.
Anyway, back to the card.
DP is Filigree Fusion by Artilicious from Chocolate Baroque.
Scalloped edge done with Spellbinders Jumbo Scallop Border.Matted onto dark green card also scalloped.
The frame is Waltzing Mouse Vintage Labels 4 stamped in Versacolor Evergreen, the sentiment is from Flourishes Orchid set stamped in Versafine black and its all cut out with Spellbinders Labels 4 die.
I know it`s only a tiny piece of snippet but it all helps. If I get the time and the batteries recharged I`ll take another pic.

One Layer Wednesday #59
Hi All!
This weeks OLW is hosted by Susan and we have been given an inspiration piccy.
Here is my take on it,
It actually took me longer to think about the card than it did to make it and then I messed it up. Arrrgh!!!
I stamped the sentiment just before I photographed it and have smudged the S. I`m so upset because I really don`t have the time to make another one. If you can ignore the smudge for now I will make a tag to place over it before I give it out.
I`ved used a Cuttlebug Leafy Branch EF straight onto the card.
The flowers are 2 sizes of daisy punches in bright yellow with clear gems in the middles.
The sentiment is Flourishes Tag Lines stamped in black Versafine.
Thats it from me for now.

Jules crafty snippets # 24
Hi Again,
Following on from the card I posted this morning I thought I`d use the snippets left over to make a card for Jules crafty snippets.
I`m not sure if anyone else saves their bits of digital papers but, sadly, I do. Maybe that`s why I have such a lot of snippets. Printer ink isn`t cheap and sometimes you just want a quick make so if the bits are big enough to use I save them. Not sure if I`m cheap or just a hoarder lol.
Anyway, I`ve used Shabby Princess digital papers Signature collection. The flowery one is left over from this mornings post and the stripey one is from my box. All matted onto bright blue card.
The image is Hero Arts Elegant Weeds stamped in Memento Bahama Blue.
The sentiment is from Flourishes Orchids Stamp set.
A piece of organza ribbon tied in knot to finish.
I`ve got an idea for another snippet make, if I get the time this week I`ll do it.
Apologies for the photo, it looks a bit wonky but I can assure you the card is straight, lol.

CR84FN #32
Good Morning All!
A short post from me today as it`s a work day. I just wanted to share my card for this weeks cr84fn challenge.
where they have given us this fun colour combo.
Gorgeous or what???
here is my take on it,
Unfortunatly my aqua looks a little more blue...
I`ve used digital papers from Shabby Princess Signature Collection matted onto green card.
The image is new to me, Orchids from Flourishes. I think you`ll be seeing a lot more of these in the future.
I`ve coloured with a mixture of watercolour pencils and Promarkers.
The sentiment is from the same set cut out with a circle nestie.
I`ve added yellow ribbon but sadly had only a tiny scrap left over so I`ve made a funny sort of bow and used a brad for the middle. Not sure about the bow.
That`s it from me for now, got a pile of ironing to do before I go to work (sigh).

Less is More #20 Monogram.
Good evening All!
Phew the weekend has just flown by. I`m sure I must have lost a day somewhere. One minute it`s saturday morning ,I blinked and suddenly it`s sunday evening already.
Yesterday Alan had to get measured up for his suit for the wedding so I dragged him around the town for my outfit. Now I was going to wait and go with my eldest daughter because men are hopeless when it comes to choosing womens clothes but I thought I`d have a look anyway. And I found the perfect dress!!!
I won`t go into details, you`ll have to wait for the wedding piccy`s and it`s not what I had in mind but I love it. It fits perfectly and I feel good in it which is the most important thing. Not bad going for someone who lives in jeans or leggings most of the time lol.
This morning I went to see my dad for fathers day while Alan took his Mum to the cemetry to lay some flowers for his dad.
Dad and I did our usual deep and meaningful putting the world to rights thing and before I knew it, it was mid afternoon. Eldest daughter, who`s own personal clock is 12 hours out of sinc with everyone elses, came with her dads card and gift and before you know it the weekend has past me by.
I did manage to squeeze in my entry for this weeks Less is More Challenge which has the theme of Monogram.
Here is my card,
This is my second attempt. On the first one I used Glamour Dust but it came out pink so I`ve done it again using red glitter.
The monogram is similar to the one I used on Son Alan`s wedding invitation. His fiance is Rachel hence the A & R
I did the monogram on the computer using Wedding font with the A & R in red and the & in soft gold.I glittered using red glitter and Art Glitter glue with fine nozzle.
I cut the monogram out with an oval nestie then cut a labels 4 nestie in deep red card ( it looks a bit brown in the photo but it is red honest)
And thats all. I thought it would make a nice card to give to my son on his wedding day if I can come up with some appropriate wording for the inside, y`know, just to let him know how proud I am of him with out being cheesy. I have plenty of time yet...

CAS-ual Fridays Block of Colour
I`ve been MIA for a few days this week. Don`t ask me why because I haven`t a clue. My work/home routine doesn`t really change from one week to the next but some weeks I can get loads of crafting done and then another, time just disappears. Alan`s been home all week so that might have something to do with it. For some reason I just can`t get on when he`s home. Anyway I`m here now with a card to share.
This is the 3rd card I`ve tried to make for Dad for fathers Day. The other 2, I wasn`t at all happy with.
The I saw the challenge for this weeks CAS-ual Fridays is blocks of colour and this card was born.
The papers are snippets left over from a previous card and are Papermania Capsule Blueberry Pie collection. I`ve stuck them onto card to give them some rigidity and placed them with foam pads.
The sentiment is `Happy Wishes` from Layers of Colour stamped in memento Bahama Blue and embossed with clear EP.
I`m also entering this card as a last minute entry into Jules Crafty Snippet Challenge 23

St Lukes Midmonth Memory Jogger
It`s almost the middle of the month, and, as the challenge at St Lukes Charity Card Challenge is a monthly one, I thought I`d post another card for Junes theme which is " Come Fly With Me " just to jog some memories. Don`t forget there is a super prize of a Ribbon Bundle this month too.
Not only is this a fantastic challenge it is also for such a worthy cause. Tara had a table at the St Lukes Summer Fair last Saturday and raised £ 125 with the cards so far donated. That`s a fabulous amount of money but the hospice needs as much as possible to keep on giving the care that is doing.
On to my card,
Another clean and simple card with some layers.
EF by Cuttlebug.
DP is Papermania Capsule Collection.
Border punch is Fiskars.
Image by Inkadinkado Birds Galore, stamped with Versacolour Burgundy and heat embossed with clear EP.
Nestie scallop die in burgundy card around image.
I haven`t added a sentiment so it can be used for any occasion.
Look out for cards from the other DT members and please join in. Let all your blogging friends know about this too as the more people donate their cards, the more money can be raised. Thank you!

Less is More In the Frame
Hi Folks!
First of all I want to apologise to any Limettes I didn`t get around to commenting on. No reflection on your creations, life and lack of time simply ran away with me. And also a huge welcome to my new followers.
The challenge this week at Less is More is a one layer card using a frame. You can stamp, draw your own, emboss or any other creative frame you can come up with. I haven`t been particularly creative with my card `cos I`ve simply used a stamp. I`ll show my card first and then I`ll start with the usual waffle.
This is a really quick and easy card.
The stamped image is one of the very first stamps I ever bought. It`s from the Stampman and is from a set called Aspects of design 1 Floral.
I stamped in clear embossing ink and heat embossed using detail Silver EP.
The flowers and leaves are coloured swith Promarkers.
And that`s it! Really quick and easy.
We got back from the caravan yesterday afternoon. We had a great time even though the weather was pants. Sunshine, cloud, rain, hail, thunder, you name it we had it. But, we had gone simply to chill out so it didn`t matter at all. Alan works really long hours, often 15 hour days so he was really ready to just sit on his bum and do nothing. Neither of us wanted to come home, 2 nights isn`t long enough but hopefully next time we can go for longer.
Jules thought it was hilarious when I mentioned that I took the cuttlebug away with me sometimes. I`m not quite as sad as it sounds. It`s quite an old touring caravan but it`s warm and dry and we keep it in storage at a lovely site in the Yorkshire Wolds. It`s an adults only site so it`s very quiet and there is nothing there but a fishing lake and a toilet and shower block. But it`s so,so peaceful. We just ring up when we want to go and the site manager pulls the van onto the site for us so we just turn up and move in. Because we`ve been going for while now we`ve done all the local sightseeing. Most often we use it as a base and go further afield for days out but ofcourse the great British weather often puts a damper on things which is where the Cuttlebug and other crafting bits and bobs come in.
But..it`s monday today and I`m back at work this afternoon ...yuk...retirement is looking more and more appealing...if only our government would stop moving the goalposts.

OLW Summer
Good afternoon all!
It`s Jennifer`s turn to host One Layer Wednesday this week and she`s chosen Summer for our theme. Make a OL card inspired by summer/ summer holidays.
Here is my take on it,
Really simple card, took about 5 minutes to make.
I used 3 different shades of blue decorating chalks for the sky/sea and 2 yellows for the beach.
Stamped my image from Inkadinkadoo`s Down by the Seaside set in black Versafine and thats it.
Love these silhouette stamps!
I spent about 3 hours making another card for LiM yesterday and it`s total pants so I won`t be sharing that one. We are off to the caravan tomorrow afternoon and already I`m fretting because I don`t know how I`m going to cope without my Saturday fix of Less is More. How sad am I ???
Jules asked whether I take some colouring with me when we go away. The answer to that one is...yes...
along with card, papers, tools, stamps, ink, ...I have even been known to take the Cuttlebug...now that is dedication ( or desperation).
This time however I am taking the last of the wedding invitations that still need ribbons and bows attatching and inserts inserting. The weather forecast isn`t good so I should get them finished.
Oh! and while I remember ; An UPDATE on the FROG...He survived...I worried all weekend andAlan was really horrible saying things like " Lynne, I think the frogs croaked" and did I want frogs legs for dinner ( Nasty Man) but late sunday evening Mr Frog put in an appearance at the edge of the pond so all`s well. Was going to give him a kiss (the frog not Alan) but chickened out, at my age I can do with out Princes.
And the car is fixed. It was air in the fuel pipe or something technical, I don`t know. Anyway Alan`s fixed it, he`s not too bad afterall bless him.
Sorry about the waffle.

Jules Crafty Snippets # 22
Good Afternoon All!
I have the week off this week and had plans to do no end of things. It`s wednesday already and I have done nothing much. Don`t get me wrong, I haven`t been sat about and I have got some much needed cleaning jobs done and the garden is finally sorted but as for decorating the kitchen (top of the list) and making loads of cards...no chance. Just where does the time go???
We`re going to the caravan on friday so I won`t get much done over the week end either..hey ho.. it`ll still be here when we get back.
One thing I was determined to get done though, was my card for Jules Crafty Snippets I spent most of yesterday afternoon going through my bit box(es) and sorting out what will go with what. Then I made this card...
For some reason the piccy looks a bit blurry, if I get the chance I`ll take another and repost it.
The flower paper is by Kameo Cards and the check paper is Papermania Blueberry Hill. I think they go really well together.
A few bits and pieces of blue card for the matting and layering and I`ve used a Fiskars Punch along the edge of the triangle.
I had to use a full sheet of ceam card for the base but I cut it down to make a 5x5 card and used the cut off to make the sentiment label.
The sentiment is by Paula Pascual and the fleur de lis thingies are by Prima.
Some punched flowers in blue finished off with some gemstones and thats it.
Pop over to Jules Blog and see what fantastic inspiration she has to show you. You will be amazed.
Thanks for popping in...Lynne xxx

Less is More #18...Monochrome
Hello All!
I hope you are well and have been enjoying the saturday sunshine. Can I say a massive welcome to my new followers and a huge thank you for all the comments on last weeks Less is More
posts.
This weeks challenge is to make a monochromatic card. There are some fabulous entries already but after a slow start I managed to make a set of 3.
I made the pink one first and liked it so much I just carried on.
A blue one.
and finally a lilac one.
I did make a lime green one too but it didn`t look right.
Not much to say about them really. Hydrangea Stamp by Do crafts stamped onto white card using Memento Rosebud, Memento Bahama Blue ( my favourite) and versacolour Heliotrope.
The sentiments are new to me ( a treat) by Paula Pascual at Personal Impressions, and are a mix of Double sayings and Mix and Match sets.
We`ve had a strange old day today at Atkinson Towers. I have the week off work this week and have planned alsorts to do,starting with finishing the back garden.
It`s a tiny garden divided into 3rds. The first has shrubs and bulbs, the middle has the pond and the last bit did have tomatoes last year but has been sadly neglected. Last week I planted some late bulbs and the seeds which are showing already, but today I wanted to put gravel around the pond. ( So Alan doesn`t bring mud and pondweed in the house every time he goes near it.lol)
I started by laying some of that weed repelent black cloth stuff down. By the time I was ready to start shovelling the gravel, one of our resident frogs had decided to explore UNDER the cloth. Stupid thing! I nearly stood on him (Has to be a him) then very nearly tipped a shovel full of gravel into the pond trying to avoid him. I ended up having to take up most of the cloth to free him, then relay it and quickly pour the gravel before he had time to get back under. Think I managed it... hope so...
Then, this afternoon we were going to a big family get together at one of Alans uncles. After a much needed shower and scraping of muddy fingernails we were ready in our best bib and tucker. Got just around the corner and the car conked out. We managed to get home but daren`t risk travelling to the otherside of Hull. So here I am, all dressed up and nowhere to go. Only one thing for it....craftroom...
And...on top of that...someone pinched the sun!!!

St Lukes Charity Card Challenge June...Come Fly With Me...
Helloooo it`s the 1st of June and that can only mean one thing....a brand new challenge at St Lukes Charity Card Challenge
This month we are asking you to make a card with the theme of flying...any style but include something that flies...Birds, Butterflies, Fairy, Angel, Plane, Hotair Balloon or even Pegasus!
Here is my make,
I have small confession to make. Because this is for such a worthy cause and because I`m on the DT, I wanred to make something a bit different. I wracked my brains but couldn`t come up with any inspiration at all and was getting a bit worried that I wouldn`t have anything to show. As late as yesterday morning I still hadn`t produced a card. While blog hopping during my morning coffee I logged onto Becca Feekans blog where she was showcasing THIS card and I just knew I had to case it.
Now mine is nowhere near as beautifully engineered as hers is, that girl must have a secret degree in engineering in my opinion as she can do the perfect mitred corners. But having said that, the end result is quite pleasing.
The base card is burgundy .
I used a Martha Stewart Trellis border punch and really used guess work for the sizing.
The butterfly is Elusive Images stamped onto dark red Vellum using clear ink and red EP.
The circle is cut out with a nestie. I`ve added some flat backed pearls the the body and also the 4 corners.
Don`t forget to join in with us at St Lukes . You`ve a whole month to get your entries in so there`s no pressure. Please visit the other DT members too and check out their awesome creations
