Less is More In the Frame

Hi Folks!

First of all I want to apologise to any Limettes I didn`t get around to commenting on. No reflection on your creations, life and lack of time simply ran away with me. And also a huge welcome to my new followers.

The challenge this week at Less is More is a one layer card using a frame. You can stamp, draw your own, emboss or any other creative frame you can come up with. I haven`t been particularly creative with my card `cos I`ve simply used a stamp. I`ll show my card first and then I`ll start with the usual waffle.

This is a really quick and easy card.
The stamped image is one of the very first stamps I ever bought. It`s from the Stampman and is from a set called Aspects of design 1 Floral.
I stamped in clear embossing ink and heat embossed using detail Silver EP.
The flowers and leaves are coloured swith Promarkers.
And that`s it! Really quick and easy.

We got back from the caravan yesterday afternoon. We had a great time even though the weather was pants. Sunshine, cloud, rain, hail, thunder, you name it we had it. But, we had gone simply to chill out so it didn`t matter at all. Alan works really long hours, often 15 hour days so he was really ready to just sit on his bum and do nothing. Neither of us wanted to come home, 2 nights isn`t long enough but hopefully next time we can go for longer.
Jules thought it was hilarious when I mentioned that I took the cuttlebug away with me sometimes. I`m not quite as sad as it sounds. It`s quite an old touring caravan but it`s warm and dry and we keep it in storage at a lovely site in the Yorkshire Wolds. It`s an adults only site so it`s very quiet and there is nothing there but a fishing lake and a toilet and shower block. But it`s so,so peaceful. We just ring up when we want to go and the site manager pulls the van onto the site for us so we just turn up and move in. Because we`ve been going for while now we`ve done all the local sightseeing. Most often we use it as a base and go further afield for days out but ofcourse the great British weather often puts a damper on things which is where the Cuttlebug and other crafting bits and bobs come in.
But..it`s monday today and I`m back at work this afternoon ...yuk...retirement is looking more and more appealing...if only our government would stop moving the goalposts.

Thanks for popping in...Lynne xxx

  5. Lovely card, such a pretty image.

I don't think crafting on vacation is at all odd, I pretty much always craft when I'm away although I am not lucky enough to be able to take a die cutter on the plane!!

  7. A lovely card Lynne. I have this stamp too but it's another one that's never been used. I must get it out now after seeing how pretty it is once it's coloured in.

Your few days away sounds blissful. I would be quite happy crafting away in a caravan without a care as to what the weather is doing (at least you don't feel guilty that you should be doing something around the house).

  9. Lynne, I'm right there with you and the retirement look good! I plan to semi retire in December and just do a little part-time work for my firm next year. Sure hope it all works out....cause my job requires a LOT of travel and I'm totally tired of traveling!

LOVE your card...so pretty. Were all the word part of the stamp too? Wow...very nice!

  30. Hi Lynne

Just having a quick catch up with whilst eating my lunch and can't believe how behind I am.

You have been back at work a whole week before I have seen this gorgeous make.

Such a beautiful stamp and I love the way the flowers flow over the text.

I hope you didn't think I was being rude when I joked about you taking your cuttlebug on holiday .. .. .. what I was really finding funny was thinking what my Hubby's reaction would be if I tried to take mine.

Left up to me I would stay in a little cottage by the sea where I could see the beach, boats, sunshine and the water through open french doors and I would take ALL my craft stuff with me and plonk myself in front of the french doors to admire the view whilst crafting .. .. heaven!!!

Then of course we would go out every evening for a meal so that I didn't have to cook!! LOL!!!

    Love Jules xx
