Gorgeous Garnet

Hello Everyone!

I made a card this morning for the challenge over on  CR84FN.
They havegiven us this fantastic inspiration,
Aren`t they just fabulous colours to work with?

I used the sketch from this weeks Less is More Challenge
but I have flipped the sketch this time so I will enter this card into both challenges.
I`ve had such a faff about trying to get a half decent photo so I`ve shown 2. One with and one without the flash on to show the gorgeous colour of the
                                                                                       flower

Anyway, I used cream card cut to a DL.
The sentiment is computer generated and printed directly onto the card.
The flower is handmade using deep red card stock.
The green DP is by Papermania Casule Collection in Verde and cut with a nestie scallop die.
I cut a piece of the red card with the scallop nestie and placed the DP onto it leaving a very narrow border.
I`ve added 1 green gem beneath the flower.

Now I need your help.
My eldest Grandaughter will be 15 next month and I haven`t a clue what to do with her card. She`s at that awkward age (when aren`t they?) where she`s too old for cute and too young for flowers and I just haven`t got any ideas whatsoever. She wants to be a hairdresser and is doing vocational training with school and a local hairdresser so if anyone knows where I can get a digistamp of a hairdryer that might help.
All advice would be gratefully recieved.

Thanks for popping in...Lynne xxx

  4. Someone I follow used a hairdryer on a card today http://aloadofoldpickle.blogspot.com/ but I've just been back and read the post and the digi store she got it from is now closed :-( Sorry - if I come across one elsewhere I'll let you know.

Love this card - so classy and fabulous!

  5. I've found some hairdressing digi papers if that helps http://www.printableheaven.com/product.php/8254/0/
There are a few "bad hair day" stamps out there - (stamping bella, unity ity bity, kraftin kimmie) so perhaps you could do a play on it with one of those and some clever wording? Hope that helps :-)

  6. You could always go for one of Kenny K's attitude teenagers for her if you want to avoid the vocational angle http://www.kennykdownloads.com/all-that-digi-stamp.php

  23. I like the sketch flipped too and I LOVE that deep red gorgeous flower!

For a 15 year girl I'd spell out her name in large DP letters. Ran this idea past my 15 year old daughter and she liked it and added "I'd especially like it if it wasn't in pink or purple"!

  30. Very elegant... Wonderful flower and great CAS style. 15 huh... eek that is a hard one. I would say any of the Anya Girls are a good choice. Not the little ones, the big ones. I have not seen a hairdryer image any. SOrry... Good luck in the search though.

I'm afraid I don't know of any hairdryer images, but have you thought of using any of the Simply Sassy images or Gorjuss Girls from Funky Kits? Sarah. P.s. Many thanks for the comment you left on my blog, I really appreciate it.

  35. Fantastic card Lynne and appreciate you taking two images as some i see are so dark not able to really see the cards. Yours is stunning and very classy:-)

For a 15 year old who doesn't know what she wants to do i would definitely go for a Stampotique stamp. These images grow on you and are very apt imho... Hope you check them out here, they are sold in lots of other places too:-)
