Hello there, happy sunday to you all.
It`s two whole years since Mandi and Chrissie began the Simply Less is More challenge and, although I have missed 2 or 3 weeks I always try to join in. It is my `go to` challenge and I`d like to wish Chrissie, Mandie and ofcourse Jen, a very happy anniversary and may there be many more.
It`s colour week this week and the chosen colours are;
Kraft and Cream.
I`ve used a fine ribbed cream base card and used a piece of the same card to cut out the Chloe Stem from Memory Box.
I made a panel using Kraft card and cut another Chloe stem, then inlaid the cream stem into the space left in the Kraft using another piece of kraft to back the panel.
I added a sentiment from TSG and some Waco Pearl Maker to the flower, finishing off with some plain string.
I have a confession to make...
Now promise you won`t fall out with me...
I don`t like Kraft!
There, I`ve said it.
I`ve seen some marvelous creations done with kraft card and I know alot of you absolutely love it but I just cannot take to it at all. It reminds me of all the millions of cardboard boxes I`ve had to unpack at work over the years and those boring parcels wrapped neatly in brown paper and string when I was a kid. Sorry!
Anyway, it`s out now and feel so much better for confessing hee hee.
Back to work tomorrow :-(
Thanks for popping in...Lynne xxx
I share your sentiments with Kraft (or beige) - hard colours to work with, but you've created a lovely card, just goes to show the benefits of moving outside our comfort zone xx
ReplyDeleteI just love your beautiful card creation- even if you don't
ReplyDeleteLovely and your sentiment is just perfect

This is gorgeous Lynme! I must confess, it took me quite some time to accept Kraft into my cardmaking, but it has really grown on me now! I really love how you inlaid the cream flower...beautiful! :)

Lovely card!

Another stunner Lynne! It took me a while to fall in love with Kraft too. There are so many different shades of the stuff too and some of them I don't like at all.

Considering you don't like Kraft you've made an absolutely gorgeous card with it, love the sentiment and pearl details.
ReplyDeleteWe all have stuff that we don't like, I don't like decoupage and digi's.
I'm with you on the Kraft issue Lynne - I find it quite depressing! But there's nothing depressing about this card! Just gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteLike lovely Kraft card Lynne..like others it took me a while to like Kraft card

ReplyDeleteIt's hard to beleive you don't like Kraft when you've made such a stunning card with it!
ReplyDeleteHad to laugh about why you don't like Kraft card I think that's why it's not my favourite either it does remind you of cardboard boxes! but your card looks far too elegant to remind us of cardboard boxes ! x

Oh my goodness - she's out! I have to admit, I have a on/off relationship with kraft and it's off at the moment but having said that there have been some gorgeous cards made for LiM this week so it's likely to be on again at any moment! Yours is beautiful Lynne. I particularly like the way you added the pearls to your seed head - I've never seen that done before and it's really effective! Vicky x

ReplyDeleteHi Lynn your card is gorgeous and the strings really works well. I love the images coloured with pencils on kraft, but when I try they never look like the stunning creations that others make!

Hi Lynne, you are very funny, about confessing your dislike of kraft! Well, you have certainly made a stunning job of this card, considering your dislike of ...you know what! I think this is gorgeous! Love it! Kx
