Hello Everyone.
I would like to start by saying that I take my hat (if I was wearing one) off to Mandi and Chrissie for the commenting on last weeks challenge at Less is More. How they managed to get round everyone and every single entry is beyond me but they did it. Which is more than I did. The sheer amount of entries was overwhelming so for those of you that I didn`t get around to, I`m sorry. Well done ladies.
Now I`d like to welcome my 2 new followers Qi and Avril. Thank you for joining my little blog :)
And now onto this weeks challenge. We have been given a sketch to follow,
Nice easy one this. Here is my first card,
Not a great piccy, sorry.
I used the resist technique by stamping the snowflakes (Inkadinkado) in clear embossing ink and clear EP then inked over it with Versa color Cyan, baby Blue, Mint and Heliotrope. The sentiment ( Creative Expressions) is stamped in Cyan and I`ve added a few tiny clear gems to the centre of some of the snowflakes.
My second card is done the same as the first, this time using Deck the Halls set from Elusive Images (now chocolate baroque) and inked in Versa color Evergreen and Memento Lady Bug.The sentiment is from the same set.
I`ve deviated very slightly from the sketch as my shape is more rectangle. I cut them out with nestie rectangle dies and raised them on foam pads.
Thanks for popping in...Lynne xxx
Loving both of these cards, really great technique and love the stamps, very creative :)
ReplyDeleteTwo lovely cards Lynne but your 2nd one is my fav...love the colours
ReplyDeleteAnne
Both gorgeous cards but the first one is my favourite - I love the colours - heliotrope has been a fave of mine ever since I learned the word as a kid - was amazed that a colour could have such a fab name. I love the gem centres to the snowflakes too - very sparkly :-)

ReplyDeleteI don't know how Chrissie and Mandi did it either! I had terrible trouble keeping up with my commenting on the blogs I follow as you all kept making LIM cards, lol!! xx
Two beautiful cards - not used the resist technique for a long time - perhaps I ought to have a go now you've given me some inspiration.
ReplyDeleteHola Lynne, both cards are beautiful but the second it's spectacular with your colours and this stamp it's fantastic, well done.
ReplyDeleteA hug from Palma and take care
two really beautiful
ReplyDeleteThanks for your kind words Lynne.
ReplyDeleteYour cards are lovely! You didn't have to have a square.. it was just the position of the image which was indicated in the sketch, so your rectangle is spot on!
Thanks so much
Chrissie

Fabulous resist technique-ing Lynne! You're quite right about the commenting last week - I gave up in the end! But the fact that Chrissie and Mandi taking their commenting so seriously is what makes this challenge in my opinion. Vx
ReplyDeleteLynne - both these cards are just wonderful. I love snowflakes (and have this stamp) and the holly stamp (have this one too) is fabulous. In fact it's my favourite!! So festive.
