Happy Thursday All!
First of all can I apologise for my rant yesterday. I got an early night last night with no disturbances and woke this morning feeling fine and refreshed. So... no more feeling sorry for myself...Lol.
Right... on to my card for today.
Alan wanted a thank you card for the HR in his previous employment for helping with a problem he has with his current employer. ( Long, complicated and very boring story) so I thought I`d use the excuse to enter in this weeks Color Throwdown #101
Here is the colour swatch
And here is my card
Quite a bit different to my usual style but I enjoyed making it none the less.
I didn`t have the exact colours in the swatch so I`ve used the nearest I have.
White hammered card A6.
A strip of corrugated fawn card matted onto a strip of black card.
The leaves are from Papertreys Turning a new leaf, stamped in versacolor fresh green and embossed in clear EP. I cut them out and raised them on the fawn card with foam pads.
The flowers are from Elusive Images , stamped and embossed in white and cut out. They are also raised with foam pads.
I`ve added a pale blue self adhesive gem to each flower.
The thank you sentiment is also from Papertrey.
I was in such a grump yesterday that I forgot to mention what a brilliant time we had on Sunday at Alans sisters house.
We had a lovely tea with ham and tomato, chicken mayo, cheese and tomato and egg mayo sandwiches. There were sausage rolls, pork pie, quiche and nibbles. All the stuff thats not so good for you but you just have to eat it and ofcourse I had to try at least one of every thing, I mean it`s only good manners isn`t it? Then we finished off with strawberries picked fresh that morning with cream followed by birthday cake. Yummy!
Alans eldest sister was there with her 3 grandchildren, all girls, who showed us their skills with the hula hoop and, ofcourse once our tea had settled we all had to have a go. We failed miserably. I came to conclusion that us adults just aren`t the right shape for hula hooping. Too many sandwiches and sausage rolls!!!
We did have a good giggle though.
Thanks for popping in...Lynne xxx.
This is really pretty honey i love the colours that you have chosen, a stunning creation, big hugs Pops x x
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! Crisp and wonderful job on the colors. Hula Hoop was great as a kid, as an adult I don't find as much fun in it. Nor do my knees for that matter. LOL Glad you had a good time and the food sounds yumo.
ReplyDeleteThis card is just stunning.

Lovely colors.
Hugs, Irena
