Playdate Cafe

Happy Saturday again!

My second post today couldn`t be further from my first.
The girls over at The Playdate Cafe .
 gave us this piccy for inspiration.

This is my version;

Halfway through making it I realised that I could have gone with the Black and White, which would have been easier, but for some reason I focused on the caramely colour instead. Mine is a bit darker than the colour swatch but I like it. Once I`d got all the elements together I liked it even more.

We recieved a phone call this morning telling us that Alans uncle had died during the night. Uncle Stan was either late 80`s or early 90`s so he has had a good innings bless him but it was still quite sad to hear. He had been poorly for a few months and was hospitalised last week. Time took it`s toll on him and he`s gone to a better place.

Which brings me back to my card. I wasn`t going to put a sentiment on it. Wasn`t even sure if I would use it for anything other than this challenge but events decided it would make a nice sympathy card , so there we are.

I matted and layered some Pink Petticoat DP onto some grey card and placed it on a 5" square white card.
Wrapped a piece of black organza ribbon around it, made a bow and placed that on the ribbon.
I made a grey handmade flower and placed that over the bow then added some faux diamonds to add some class.
The sentiment is by Papertrey, stamped with black stazon and raised with foam pads.

Thats me done for today. Just going to check you all out then I`m downloading some papers from Pink Petticoat ( spending my wages before I`ve earned them lol) and they`re taking forever.

Thanks for popping in...Lynne xxx

  9. Sorry to hear about Alan's uncle Lynne. Your card is beautiful - the black and caramel is more subtle than black and white I think. You might want to ask now if they might need you to do a bit of overtime!
