Good Morning All!
It will be my eldest daughter and SIL `s wedding anniversary at the end of the month, this is the card I`ve made for them.
The inspiration for this one came from watching " This Morning" the day before the Royal Wedding.
They were showing designer wedding cakes and one of them had a cascade of flowers flowing down the 3 tiers. If I remember rightly it cost around £5000. Yikes!!!
Watching the show brought back memories . My Mum could do the most beautiful cake decorations before the Alzhiemers robbed her of her creativity.
Her sugar roses were gorgeous and I just know that had she been well when the papercrafting craze became massive, she would have been making the most fantastic cards and it would be her blog you would be looking at. She also did flower arranging and knew all about balance and placement.
Unfortunetly I didn`t inherit Mum`s creative streak.I have to work hard at my craft. It certainly doesn`t come easily, lol.
Anyway back to the card. As you can see I`ve gone mad with the rolled roses. A mixture of pink, cream and yellow.
I made a panel using the Damask folder from Crafts Too.
Placed the roses to cascade down the side.
I punch some leaves in a pale green.
The sentiment is Rubbadubbado and the frame is Waltzing Mouse Vintage labels 4 cut out with a nestie.
It has been stamped and embossed in silver detail EP.
I`m quite pleased with this one. The roses have gone a bit uniform for my liking but I still like it.
Thanks for popping in...Lynne xxx
Well you have got the rolled-rose bug haven't you lol! It looks fabulous and I saw the same cakes so can see exactly where you got your inspiration. Great card :-D
ReplyDeleteHi Lynne, Pretty card, love the contrast of the bright flowers against the white background. :0) xxx
ReplyDeleteOh! Lynne, your post has really touched my soft spot, I stopped doing wedding cakes after 25yrs in 2005 the happiest crafting days of my life. I loved making Sugar Flowers and know the passion very well. I am sorry your mum was robbed of this xx Your Card is gorgeous and I can picture the cake perfectly.
