Happy LiM day every one!!!
I was so excited this morning when I checked the Less is More Challenge this morning to find it was " White on White" this week. I adore white on white cards, they always look so classy.
I ran through some ideas while shopping and doing the housework and as soon as I could I started on my masterpiece. And that`s where it all came to an abrupt halt.
The image in my head just doesn`t match up with the end product I`m afraid. I`m posting anyway because I have to have something to show but I`m pretty certain there will be at least one other entry this week.
Somehow it just doesn`t seem ....right...There are already so many fantastic entries I think I might have to throw the towel in and admit defeat.
I embossed the card with a Crafts Too Damask EF then cut the card to size.
I made one large and four small roses which haven`t turned out as good as they could be.
The sentiment is from Joanna Sheen Wedding Cake stamp set embossed in detail silver then cut out with circle nestie.
I cut a scalopped circle and placed the other one on top then placed using foam pads.
I arranged the roses around the circle.
And that`s it.
My daughter has just arrived so I`d better make her a cuppa. Be round you all later.
Thanks for popping in...Lynne xxx
This is lovely Lynne, I can't think why you're not pleased with it... I thought form the thumbnail that you had added lilac flowers, but it's simply the way the light falls on them.
ReplyDeleteThe odd leaf or two emerging from behind the flowers might soften the look a little, as Mandi did. .. but it's simply fab as is!

I like it lynne. I particulaly like the flowers. xx Jan
ReplyDeleteAs I see it Lynne, I think maybe 2 roses one side and one the other may have balance better?
ReplyDeleteOr maximum of 3 a couple of leaves maybe
Oh sorry Im not meaning to pick holes in it at all!
Fab embossing and design...Super!

Lovely but, since you're not happy with it then perhaps it may be a little heavy on the flowers . . . perhaps 3 might work better? Just a thought
ReplyDeleteKathyk
I think this is just lovely Lynne - however you could maybe put three roses just along the bottom or less down the side - but really it is lovely as it is.
ReplyDeleteLynn x
Oh you are hard on yourself Mrs - its just lovely! I think its a shame the dies didn't come in 3 sizes - I would like one smaller than the small one so that you could graduate the flowers down in 3s (one large, 2 medium and 2 tiny). Perhaps we should email marianne d and ask for another :-)
ReplyDeleteIts beautiful and I love your flowers. Yvonne x
ReplyDeleteLynne, there is absolutely nothing wrong with this at all; it's beautiful and so very elegant!! I love the whole layout and the flowers are gorgeous as they are. I've just linked my card and yours was the one that stood out for me to visit first! ..

Lovely card, I agree is't not as easy to make these cards how you imagine sometimes :)
ReplyDeleteJenny x
Lynne, the embossing looks awesome! I love your flowers, but perhaps if you had only used 3 flowers? I think it might be "lighter" looking. Not being critical...just a thought.
ReplyDeleteWouldn't change a thing about your card except to add a couple of swirly leaves. Five is a great number and the roses are balanced perfectly. A stylish and elegant card:-)
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful and love those roses.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful card and I love the roses. I am very rarely satisified with what I make , yours is gorgeous and what,s one rose to many amongst friends I say you can never have to many flowers.
ReplyDeleteMarie
Oh Lynne - do not throw in the towel; your card is lovely. I really love the embossed background that then popped die-cut with sentiment. It's very simple and elegant.
ReplyDeleteI like Chrissie and Mandie's ideas to add sprig of leaves and maybe cut the flowers back to three instead of five will make it seem more pleasing to you.
